Although there are many mythical and legendary Pokémon in the China, there are still many mythical Pokémon that are not there in China.
For example, Necrozma, Solgaleo, Lunala, and other legendary Pokémon are located abroad, particularly on Otherworldly Island. This island is also connected to the Ultra Wormhole, making it a hotspot for Ultra Beasts.
Reports online frequently mention Ultra Beasts appearing in various locations, causing havoc by stealing items or even attacking cities. These incidents are common in other regions.
When traveling abroad, do not be surprised if you are suddenly attacked by Pokémon. It happens often, and there is no one to prevent it. Not even Elites and Champions are guaranteed to defeat the powerful Ultra Beasts.
For this reason, it's best to avoid Otherworldly Island, as the Ultra Beasts there are extremely dangerous. Some, like Buzzwole, even appear in swarms, capable of overwhelming travelers in moments.
Evan, curious about the possibility of finding a Cosmog egg in the ruins, knew it was unlikely. The entrance to such ruins wasn't even in this area. Despite this, his curiosity lingered, especially after receiving a pure Z crystal from Marshadow—a rarity in China.
Evan found Marshadow chatting quietly with Gallade.
"Marshadow, I have something to ask," Evan said. "Are there many ruins in this forest? And where did you get those stones?"
Evan didn't hesitate and got straight to the point.
Marshadow seemed momentarily stunned by the question but quickly shook its head.
"Marsha~~!! Mar!*"
"There are no more ruins left. Most have become Pokémon lairs. I've explored them, but they're empty. A group of people dug through here before and took most of what was valuable."
Evan felt speechless. "Tomb robbers?" he thought. "Then there's no point in asking further. Those ruins are probably completely cleared out."
Marshadow looked at Evan with a tilted head.
"Marsha?"
"Would you like to visit my home?" it asked, extending an invitation.
Evan blinked in surprise. Was Marshadow really offering to take him to its home?
"May I?" Evan asked, intrigued by the idea. If possible, he would love to explore. There might be something unique and valuable that he couldn't even identify.
Marshadow nodded enthusiastically.
"Mar~!! No problem," it said. After a moment of hesitation, Marshadow added, "We're friends."
Evan smiled at the Pokémon's sincerity. Pokémon like Marshadow were different from humans—they showed genuine loyalty and care. Treat them well, and they would always return the favor.
"Let's go," Evan said, ready for the adventure ahead.
Marshadow clearly regarded Evan as a friend, which made it no issue for him to invite Evan to his home. Despite Marshadow's timid and cautious nature, it showed how much it cared when treated with kindness. Pokémon, unlike some people, always reciprocated genuine care and effort.
With that thought settled, Evan eagerly prepared for the journey. He instructed Dragonite to stay behind in case Pikachu or the others faced any danger, ready to help if needed. Taking along Gallade and Gardevoir—two Pokémon Marshadow was familiar with—Evan followed Marshadow toward its home.
Evan's curiosity grew. Marshadow's home had to hold secrets, especially since pure Z crystals weren't supposed to exist in China. Yet Marshadow had given him several. It was no wonder Evan was keen to see where Marshadow lived.
Marshadow agreed without hesitation when Evan asked to visit, emphasizing their friendship. This made Evan genuinely happy.
Once Evan was ready, Marshadow led him toward the far side of the lake. There was an entrance there. While Marshadow could have effortlessly traveled through the shadows to reach its home in no time, Evan and his companions lacked such abilities. As a result, Marshadow chose a rarely-used path.
It had only taken this path once before, when it first discovered the location of its nest. After that, it always preferred to enter through the shadows.
Evan followed closely, the path winding through the forest. Eventually, they arrived at a small, weed-covered slope. Marshadow came to a stop and pointed to a spot just ahead. It raised its hand and unleashed a Shadow Ball.
The weeds in front of them exploded, revealing a dark, hidden cave entrance.
Evan stood in shock.
"This is the entrance?" he muttered.
"Is it really this simple? Or... who could have dug this out?"
He stared at the cave, now more intrigued than ever about what lay inside.
It seemed impossible for this cave to remain untouched. If it had been visited before, everything valuable inside would have been taken.
The hole was small, barely wide enough for one person to fit through at a time, and very short. At 180 cm tall, Evan had to hunch over significantly to make his way inside. Marshadow, on the other hand, moved effortlessly, slipping through without a care.
As Evan observed the entrance, he instinctively used Psychic to sense the interior. Despite the narrow opening, the space beyond revealed itself to be a larger passage. The cave extended downward, with water pooling below, likely from rain seeping in over time.
After assessing the situation, Evan called out, "Marshadow, wait."
He turned to Gardevoir and Gallade.
"Let's just Teleport directly inside. No need to crawl through this."
Marshadow blinked in surprise at the suggestion, glancing between Evan and the cave entrance. Then it nodded in agreement. Crawling in, hunched over, was not only uncomfortable but risky given the steep downward slope. Falling was a real possibility.
Without hesitation, Gardevoir grasped Evan's arm and prepared to teleport them. While Evan could have used Psychic himself, navigating such a cramped and wet space wasn't worth the trouble. Psychic required precise control, and in a confined area like this, a small mistake could end up with him face-first in stagnant water.
It wasn't like the spacious fields where he could freely practice and maneuver. Here, one misstep could easily lead to taking a mouthful of muddy water—a thought Evan didn't find appealing.
Deciding it wasn't worth the risk, he let Gardevoir handle it. A moment later, Evan, Gardevoir, Gallade, and Marshadow disappeared from the spot in an instant, safely teleporting deeper into the cave.
