Old Man Xia teased his wife for trying to flatter herself by comparing her to Xia Xiao, and the grandparents jovially bantered in front of their sons-in-law and grandchildren. Xia Xiao, watching from the side, couldn't help but smile, feeling that this kind of affection among the older generation was truly special.
"Come, come, pick some vegetables." Li Wenjuan came out with a basket and placed it in front of Xia Xiao.
Xia Xiao and a few of her female cousins started picking vegetables while the younger kids were already outside playing, their mouths stuffed with candies.
While picking vegetables, Xia Xiao watched her playful younger siblings with a touch of a smile on her lips, thinking kids loved the New Year the most—new clothes to wear, plenty of food and fun, and red packets to receive.
