Chapter 354 - You are still useful

Unlike his talent in the battle and the Rating Game, Diehauser had no talent at all in politics, so he told Masa everything truthfully as if he was correct, and wanted to let Masa know the truth of the Rating Game had always been the dream place for all the devils in this world.

In his eyes, the Rating Game was a sacred competition that couldn't be tarnished, especially after Diehauser had given his everything in this game, and he was sure that Masa thought the same, especially when Masa was a young man who had seen the Rating Game from childhood.

Diehauser thought that Masa's view toward the Rating Game must be the same.

However, hearing Diehauser's words, Masa rolled his eyes, thinking that this champion was so naive.

'But... it might be good to use him.'

Masa knew that to make his rule on the Underworld more stable, he had to erase a few people, but he knew that he couldn't do it himself, and to do that, he could use Diehauser.

Was he evil?

Well, he was a devil, but did anyone think that he was an angel?

Yet, this was also the reason why he said that Diehauser was a devil, since, as a devil, wasn't it normal for them to do an evil activity?

"I see."

"Then?"

After he finished his story, Diehauser looked at Masa with expectation, thinking that his words had been heard and Masa would punish those who had tainted the Rating Game into a dirty competition where the wealthy made money and reputation.

"Then let's stop the Rating Game."

"....."

That answer made Diehauser widen his eyes. "S-Stop the Rating Game?!"

"Yes."

"Why?!"

"Because it will lead to instability in the Underworld."

Masa's answer was calm and cold, but this was how he believed, since instead of trying to fix the Rating Game, he felt that it was better to stop it directly, as it was a source of trouble.

In his mind, the Rating Game was nothing but an event and entertainment.

If the participants felt pride and felt that it was their everything, it was because their role was similar to an athlete.

For athletes, wasn't it natural that they would do their best to become the winner since being the winner would give them victory and everything?

However, for Masa, this Rating Game could be erased as it wasn't something important in this world. More importantly, compared to his safety, peace, and the continuation of his rule, who cares about slight cheating by the noble families, who just wanted to make money on the Rating Game?

"How could you do that?!"

"Of course I can." Masa looked at Diehauser and asked, "The Rating Game or the safety of all the devils in the Underworld, which one do you think is more important?"

"That's..."

"Or, do you want me to expose everything so all of those devils with a lower status will overthrow us? You are also a noble Diehauser. Grow up."

Diehauser understood Masa's decision since, compared to the life of the devils in the Underworld and the Rating Game, it was clear which was more important, right?

Yet, he didn't want to give up since he had given everything, and everything he gained was also due to the Rating Game.

Diehauser could do anything for this event!

Yes, Masa didn't care about the Rating Game, but for Diehauser, it was his everything!

"Please don't stop the Rating Game."

"I can't." Masa shook his head and said, "You are going to cause many troubles if I don't stop the Rating Game. The best way to handle this problem is to solve everything behind the scenes. Fortunately, the Khaos Brigade exists, so we can use this excuse to stop the Rating Game."

"W-What about my cousin?! Are you saying that I should remain indifferent and ignore her death?!"

Diehaser tried to stop Masa's decision from a different angle; yes, his cousin died due to realizing the dirty secret behind the Rating Game, so it was natural for him to wish for revenge, right?

"Your cousin? You mean the previous governor of Kuoh City?"

"Yes, Clerial Bellial. She is my cousin, who was killed due to knowing the existence of the King Piece! I want those who are behind her death to be punished!"

King Piece.

This was the hidden Evil Piece created by Ajuka accidentally, which had the effect of making the user become stronger.

If a devil used this piece, then their strength would increase tens to hundreds of times.

Unfortunately, the effect was minimal or even nothing when it was used on a strong devil such as Masa, Ajuka, Serafall, or even Sirzechs.

This piece was only for the weak, who had limited Demonic Power, and to be honest, Masa had known its existence for as long as his aunt, Misla Bael, had asked him in the past whether he wanted to use it or not.

However, Diehauser only knew about this problem lately, so it was natural that he was angry to know that those who were mostly in the top ten within the rank of the Rating Game were cheating by using the King Piece.

Still, Masa looked at Diehauser calmly and said, "If it's your cousin, don't you understand that she has fallen for the exorcist, so she is punished? If it's now, then it doesn't matter, but you understand how delicate our situation with the church is, right? It's a life or death problem."

"Then, what about the King Piece? Are you just going to remain in silence even though you know its existence?"

"Diehauser, let me ask you." Masa looked at Diehauser and asked, "If a reincarnated devil uses a Sacred Gear or the Longinus, do you think they are cheating?"

"No."

"Why? It is a tool to make them stronger, right? What's the difference between it and the King Piece? If we want to make it fair, why don't you stop using your innate ability? More importantly, there are no rules that the participant can't use a weapon.

"The King Piece is nothing but a tool or a weapon, so it is fine."

"But everyone never knows its existence!"

"Even if they know, what will they do? Those devils at the bottom have no money, or even you, the champion of the Rating Game, do you think you have enough money to get it? So, even if they know, it is meaningless."

"But it isn't fair!"

"If that's the case, then the fact that you have much more of the Demonic Power also isn't fair, right?"

"But these come from my body, but they are from the outside!"

Masa took a deep breath and said, "I think that all I will say is meaningless to you, so let's stop this argument since you won't listen to me."

"..." Dieahauser.

"Diahauser, I will stop the Rating Game."

"No, you can't do that!"

"I can do it." Masa smiled and said, "I have the power to do so."

When Diehauser wanted to fight Masa, Masa didn't even pay attention to Diehauser and just released his Demonic Power, which was enough to crush Diehauser to death!

The sudden pressure naturally surprised many, but fortunately, Masa created a domain, so it wouldn't affect others.

"It is a shame to kill you since you are useful to me."

"...."

Diehauser opened his lips and then closed them, feeling so much more complex being treated as a tool by Masa.

"I will give you a chance."

"...a chance?"

"Yes, I will give you a chance to kill them."

"...." Diehauser.

"You clear all of them; I will take care of the rest. What do you think?"

Diehauser might be a devil, but he realized that he wasn't fit to become one, yet, facing the devil's temptation that came from Masa's lips, he nodded.

"Yes. Let me do it."

Diehauser would do everything to make the one he loved pure and clear.
