Celeste pulled herself together, then carefully thought of her reply.
"A rat?" Celeste repeated. "You mean someone betrayed you? Who was it? What did you do to him... or her?" she asked, leaning in as if it was the greatest gossip she'd heard all day. Sara pushed her hair back dramatically, leaning in as well. The two sitting opposite each other like schoolgirls talking about boys.
"No, not a traitor. Someone—I don't know how she knew about us, who sent her, or how long she's been following us. But that girl wasn't fast enough on her feet," Sara started.
"I noticed one day she was following me personally, even dared start a conversation. But I could see right through her. She was looking at me a certain way. I invited her to come over and then bam, she didn't see it coming, but I got her."
