"Mo Yu!"

The moment Mo Yu appeared, Lan Lie and the others were momentarily stunned, their eyes quickly filling with shock and disbelief.

With a faint smile, Mo Yu stepped forward, eventually stopping beside Lan Bingbing. Meeting her burning, beautiful gaze, he asked lightly, "Are you alright?"

"I knew you weren't ordinary!" Lan Bingbing's enchanting eyes stared unblinkingly at Mo Yu.

"A woman's intuition is truly terrifying," Mo Yu replied helplessly.

"To recover so quickly from such grave injuries and be up and about within days is beyond what ordinary people can achieve. Not to mention, your unique aura is impossible to hide," Lan Bingbing remarked with a gentle laugh.

Seeing the mischief in Lan Bingbing's eyes and the astonishment on Lan Lie's face, Mo Yu shook his head slightly before waving his hand. "Let's deal with the trouble here first," he said.

Hearing this, the group nodded in agreement, shifting their focus to Tang Mu and his companions.

Though uncertain of Mo Yu's strength at such a young age, they had no choice but to trust him in this situation.

"Who are you? You seem unfamiliar, so this must be your first time in Xi Huang City," Tang Mu said, his eyes fixed on Mo Yu, his tone cautious.

"Take your men and leave. The people here are under my protection," Mo Yu replied evenly, his voice calm and unwavering as his gaze swept over Tang Mu.

"You dare to offend the Tang Clan?" Tang Mu's expression darkened, his tone growing icy.

"And if I do?" Mo Yu asked with a faint smile, his response nonchalant.

"You arrogant brat! If not for your sneak attack earlier, how could you have driven me back? And don't forget, we have two Dou Huang here!" Enraged, Tang Mu laughed coldly.

"Go ahead," Mo Yu said indifferently.

Clenching their fists tightly, Tang Mu and Tang Huo exchanged glances. Such an audacious young man was a first for them.

The air crackled as the two Dou Huang experts steeled themselves, their faces twisting with malice. "Kill him!" Tang Mu roared.

At his command, the black-clad figures behind him let out a unified shout. Weapons in hand, they charged at the convoy with a murderous aura.

As the attackers surged forward, Lan Lie and the others tensed, gripping their weapons tightly. However, just as they were about to confront the oncoming threat, Mo Yu stepped forward and calmly extended his hand, clenching it lightly.

In an instant, a surge of crimson thunder flame erupted, spreading rapidly. The black-clad figures charging with bloodlust froze abruptly, their bodies turning fiery red. Moments later, they coughed up blood violently and collapsed to the ground like harvested wheat.

"A Expert!"

Tang Mu and Tang Huo's pupils contracted as they witnessed the scene. Yet, recalling their patriarch's orders to capture Lan Bingbing alive, they gritted their teeth and charged with a fierce shout.

The two Dou Huang experts transformed into shadows, unleashing their immense Dou Qi. The ground cracked beneath their onslaught, leaving deep grooves in their wake.

The oppressive aura of the two Dou Huang experts bore down like a storm, causing Lan Bingbing and the others to feel as though their breathing had stalled. But standing before them, the youth in simple linen clothes remained unfazed.

"Boom!"

The two attacks collided violently, yet the seemingly overwhelming strikes withered away like a flame doused by rain. In contrast, the crimson thunder flame, slender as an arm, coiled and devoured the attacks effortlessly.

With a casual wave of his sleeve, Mo Yu transformed the crimson thunder flame into a streak of fire that shot out, striking the two Dou Huang experts squarely in the chest.

"Bang! Bang!"

The muffled sounds were accompanied by two figures being sent flying.

"This man is too powerful. Retreat!"

Tang Mu and Tang Huo struggled to stabilize themselves, their faces pale. Though Mo Yu looked young, his strength far surpassed theirs. Staying any longer would be pointless. Without hesitation, Tang Mu ordered a retreat.

However, as they fled, Mo Yu merely shook his head. A ball of green thunder appeared before him, releasing a wave of energy that spread swiftly.

"Thud!"

The green thunder darted forward like a predator, catching up with the retreating duo. Their bodies froze mid-motion as their meridians felt poisoned, their vision blackening until they collapsed lifelessly.

The sudden change happened in the blink of an eye. Before Lan Bingbing and the others could react, the two figures were tossed back like discarded sacks, landing at their feet. Mo Yu's indifferent voice followed, "They're yours to deal with."

Looking down at the two Dou Huang experts, pale and unconscious, even Lan Bingbing, with her usual composure, couldn't help but take a deep breath.

Within ten moves, Mo Yu had subdued two five-star Dou Huang experts. Such strength was nearly unmatched, even among the Lan Clan.

After neutralizing the Tang Clan's ambushers, the Lan Clan caravan resumed its journey to Xi Huang City.

However, this time was different. With Mo Yu's display of power, he became the center of attention within the caravan, drawing the gaze of nearly everyone at every step.

Helpless, Mo Yu retreated to a carriage to recover from his injuries. Occasionally, Lan Bingbing visited privately, asking him to assist the Lan Clan further.

Mo Yu neither agreed nor refused, mindful that the Tang Clan was backed by Ten Thousand Sword Pavilion, one of the Four Pavilions. Although not fearful of Ten Thousand Sword Pavilion, Mo Yu preferred to tread carefully as he navigated Central Plains.

Two days later, they finally arrived at Xi Huang City.

As the caravan entered the bustling city, the cacophony of voices and activity was overwhelming, especially after days in the desert. Mo Yu needed a moment to adjust.

Xi Huang City's grandeur was unlike anything Mo Yu had seen before. Wide streets thronged with people, reflecting its prosperity.

The Lan Clan estate was located in the southern part of the city, opposite the Tang Clan's northern stronghold. These two clans dominated the city, dividing it into distinct territories.

After weaving through the city's intricate streets for nearly half an hour, the caravan arrived at an expansive manor.

As they approached, they noticed numerous carriages bearing identical yellow emblems parked outside.

Lan Bingbing's expression darkened. "The Tang Clan? How dare they act so brazenly at our doorstep?"

"Move in!"

Lan Bingbing ordered the caravan to unload before dismounting and striding into the estate with icy determination.

Behind her, Mo Yu narrowed his silver eyes and followed.

Passing through winding paths, they finally reached an imposing hall where a new confrontation awaited.

From a distance, Mo Yu could faintly make out the crowd gathered outside the discussion hall. As they approached, Lan Bingbing gently waved her hand and led Mo Yu to a discreet corner where they could clearly see inside. Her beautiful eyes fixed on the events unfolding within.

Mo Yu followed her gaze, scanning the hall until his eyes landed on a graceful figure in a blue dress. His brow instantly arched.

"Lan Yingying, it really is her," he muttered.

Inside the hall, the atmosphere was tense. The Tang Clan's powerful members stood with their arms crossed, smirking coldly at the Lan Clan. At the head of the group sat two young men.

The one on the left, clad in a yellow robe, looked to be around twenty-six or twenty-seven. While not particularly handsome, his features exuded a certain charm, and his demeanor was marked by an unmistakable arrogance.

The man on the right, in stark contrast, had a cold, stern face. His attire immediately stood out—it was the specialized robe of a weapon refiner. Embroidered on his chest were five furnace patterns, signifying his rank as a fifth-grade weapon refiner.

"Young Master Tang San, you barging into my Lan Clan's grounds today is a bit much, don't you think?"

A middle-aged man in a brocade robe spoke, his calm tone carrying an air of authority that demanded respect.

"Uncle Lan, there's no need to threaten me," Tang San replied with a casual smile. "I've come today simply to inquire whether your Lan Clan has decided on the terms we proposed a few days ago."

"The Lan Clan will never stoop to such disgrace, selling our daughter for survival!" the middle-aged man declared firmly, his tone resolute.

Hearing this, Tang San's face darkened slightly, his cold laugh echoing through the hall. "Since that's the case, don't blame my Tang Clan for being ruthless!"

"Even if my Lan Clan cannot match your Tang Clan, trying to devour us will surely cost you dearly!" the middle-aged man responded, his gaze sharp and filled with warning.

Tang San sneered and rose to his feet. Turning to the stern-looking youth beside him, he introduced him with a note of pride.

"Perhaps Uncle Lan isn't aware of this esteemed guest's identity. Allow me to present Sun Wuji, a talented disciple of the Swordsmith Grandmaster. At such a young age, he is already a fifth-grade weapon refiner!"

The revelation hit the room like a thunderclap. The faces of the Lan Clan members turned ashen, and even Lan Yingying, who had maintained a composed demeanor, could not conceal the slight tremor in her long eyelashes.

The middle-aged man's expression grew even darker, tinged with bitterness. He hadn't expected this young man to be a disciple of the renowned Swordsmith Grandmaster, one of the newly minted eighth-grade weapon craftsmen of the Central Plains.

Famous for his unparalleled skill in forging swords, the grandmaster held a prestigious position as the chief weapon refiner of the Ten Thousand Sword Pavilion, with even its master treating him with utmost respect.

More troublingly, the Swordsmith Grandmaster was also a high-ranking member of the Weapon Alliance, and the enmity between him and the Lan Clan's backer within the alliance was no secret.

Tang San's intentions were now painfully clear.

"Out of respect for the past connections between our clans, I'll offer you a way out," Tang San declared, his voice dripping with mock generosity. "Three days from now, at Tian Yuan Square, if someone from your generation can defeat me and surpass Brother Sun Wuji in weapon refining—whether they are from the Lan Clan or not—I will promise that my Tang Clan will not trouble you for the next ten years.

"But if you lose," Tang San added with a sneer, "not only must Lan Bingbing marry me, but your Lan Clan will also submit entirely to the Tang Clan!"

A heavy silence filled the hall, only to be broken by the middle-aged man's grave voice.

"Very well, the Lan Clan accepts!"

Tang San burst into laughter, waving his hand to summon his followers. "Good! Then we'll meet at Tian Yuan Square in three days!"

With that, he and his entourage strode out of the courtyard, their laughter lingering in the air.

"Patriarch, do we have anyone suitable?" one of the Lan Clan elders asked after Tang San's departure, his voice tinged with urgency.

The other Lan Clan members turned expectant eyes toward the middle-aged man.

"Alas, no," he replied with a heavy sigh. "For someone to rival Tang San and outshine Sun Wuji in weapon refining is nearly impossible. They are forcing us into a corner to secure a brief reprieve."

"Who says we don't have a candidate?"

Before he could continue, a clear, melodious voice rang out from outside the hall. Heads turned to see Lan Bingbing stride in, her face alight with confidence.

Without waiting for their surprise to fade, she continued, "Father, Sister, I've found the perfect person to defeat Tang San."

Her declaration was punctuated by the appearance of a young man with silver eyes and simple attire, who strolled in with measured steps.

The moment Lan Yingying caught sight of him, her beautiful eyes lit up, and she abruptly rose to her feet.

Mo Yu chuckled softly at her reaction. "Senior Sister Lan Yingying, it's been a few years. How have you been?"
