Chapter 77 - New place to go

After taking a break with Valac to have something sweet, we were chatting and I stopped teasing him by talking about Leviathan and started flattering him since the papers said he likes compliments.

So staying annoyed is not the right idea, it's more worth it to compliment him and only occasionally annoy him or make him jealous.

And after our little break, I went from room to room reading the papers that talked about the 7 and ended up discovering several useful things.

Most have fears of something that has no way of appearing in the castle, but I don't care about the fears, the important thing is what they like and they are relatively simple things that most like.

In other words, I can take advantage of their tastes to get more affection and prevent things from going negatively for me.

However, while looking for what they like, I ended up finding something suspicious about the castle, and it turns out that this area can only be reached if one of the 7 takes me there.

The castle itself expels those who do not have permission to enter, exchanging and rotating the rooms at a pace that makes it impossible to get there unless you control the movements of the castle.

And I'm sure! This part is where what Aurora wants me to find is hidden, so I have to figure out some way for them to take me to this place, I just wonder how to do it.

When I mentioned this place to Valac, he became strangely restless and denied it regardless of what I did, even when I offered to do anything he wanted, he denied it.

So it got really hard to access this place, in fact you don't necessarily need to be one of the 7, just someone with a gigantic amount of magic and who can control the movement of the castle.

That's why I'm really tempted to ask the librarian for help in exchange for something, we're both chimeras, I'm sure I can offer something useful that would help me get to that part.

But to ask the librarian for help, I first need to get Valac to leave, after all if I'm trying to ask the librarian for help, Valac may just interrupt me or even tell the Librarian to never accept.

"Big brother, aren't you neglecting your responsibilities by staying with me?" I ask as we walk through this area, it may still have something to help me get to that part of the castle.

But I want to get Valac to leave so I can ask the librarian for help, after all asking him for help has a better chance of success.

"...Maybe, but I don't have anything very important to do," Valac replies evasively.

"Hmmm is that so? You know I hate lazy people" It's not a lie, I hate Beelzebub, he's the worst of them all, and I honestly hate him with all my might, he's undoubtedly the worst of the 7.

"Please big brother, don't be like Beelzebub procrastinating on your duties or I might start hating you! Because if you're lazy about doing your duties, you must also be lazy about spending time with me."

"...Don't worry, I do what I have to do," Valac says confidently.

"Hmm is that really true?" I question him again, not trusting his words.

"Of course it is," He confirms again with confidence.

"Then why in the past did you only spend a few hours with me at most a day or a few days and then disappear for a while, but now you're spending all this time with me?"

"That's just because I didn't have time before!" It's obviously a lie he just told.

"Big brother is a liar! Please take me to the library and then go to work! You can't be a lazy big brother or I'll hate you."

"..."

"And how would you know if I'm being lazy, little sister?" He questions as if he's already won this, after all I don't have a way to know these things on my own.

"If you spend a lot of time with me, but none of your duties are done, I'll know! I'll just ask the others! Remember big brother, I never forget anything! You don't want me to hate you for eternity, right?"

"If I ask Leviathan and he says you're lazily procrastinating, I'll hate you forever!"

"..." He's silent for a moment, I don't even know what they're really doing, but it doesn't matter as long as Valac leaves.

"Tsk, you're right, I have some duties, you said you want to go to the library? I'll take you there." He says as he snaps his fingers, I've already explored enough of this floor we were in, so it doesn't matter if we go back.

And we're right in front of the library, the teleportation trip is so convenient and safe, I'd love to have the spatial element instead of this useless healing element that's good for nothing.

"I have to go do some things, little sister, I'll see when I'll have time to see you again," He says as he leans down and kisses my cheek, then disappears.

And when he's gone, the depressive feelings immediately come flooding in like a tsunami because there's nothing colorful in my field of vision anymore, my world seems to just get grayer every day.

At this point, I can barely see the colors of things, everything is so dull and gray that I can hardly distinguish the colors, which is something terrible.

'It seems to be getting worse...' I feel bad, it seems like everything is just getting worse, now I kind of miss having sent Valac away, being with him who is so colorful makes me not notice how boring and bad the world is.

"..." I knock on the library door, which opens, and I quickly enter, looking for the librarian to ask for this favor.

Walking through the library with various books, I notice the section, it seems to have changed a bit, I wonder why, soon I see the librarian on a ladder removing some books and throwing them in the cart below while replacing them with new ones.

'Is he... that bored?' He's replacing everything manually, this must take days to do, I notice from here that he has no colors either.

"Hey, librarian! Let's talk, I need help!" I yell to make him hear me, he looks down for a moment, but then ignores me and goes back to putting books.

"I'll do anything in exchange for your help." This seems to catch his attention, he puts the last book down and comes down the stairs, coming over here.

"What do you need?" He asks me as he uses some magic to automatically replace the books, showing that he was doing everything manually out of boredom.

"I want you to take me to the center of the castle, in exchange I'll... do something you want." I don't know what he'll ask for, but I'm willing to do many things if it's for his help.

"...Why do you talk as if you know me?" The librarian questions, and with that I remember that he never abused me after I broke the rules because I went back in time, so we don't even know each other yet.

"Well... I just thought that... you could help me in exchange for something... you won't? It's just that you're in a library and seem... a pretty girl?" I ended up not taking that into account and now I'm talking nonsense.

"Taking you to the center of the castle is fully possible, but I'll charge dearly for a favor, you know I can't normally leave the library, so... I want your mana."

"..."

'My... mana?' He's never asked me for something like this before, so it's a strange novelty, but it shouldn't be a problem, he's always made strange requests if he really asked for something.

"Of course, I'll give you my mana, how will you take it?" My mana is useless anyway, all I know how to do is heal and I have no one to heal, giving it to the librarian doesn't matter as long as he gives me what was asked.

"I'll fuck you while I steal your mana, once I'm satisfied, I'll take you to the center of the castle." He says while seeming to wait to see if I'll refuse, I'm sure if Valac heard this he'd be jealous.

'Of course it would be something like this...'

"I accept."

"Great, just sit anywhere and wait, I'm busy at the moment and can't waste time." He says as he takes the books in the cart to some place, I decide to just follow him.

"What are you doing?" I ask curiously.

"Throwing out outdated books and replacing them with new and accurate knowledge."

"...If you can't leave the library, how do you know what's new and what's useless?"

"Will you give me something more to know the answer to that?" He asks me for asking about the books.

"No" I obviously won't give anything else, it's not worth it.

"Then stay quiet, libraries are not a place for noise."

'Rude' What a unique way to tell someone to shut up for talking too much, I decide to just follow him in silence, if he's going to take me to the center of the castle, I'm satisfied.
