As she stood, magic swirling about her thickly, her hair dancing in a non-existent wind about her head, Rachel truly questioned her life. The large reptilian human hybrid had several wounds on his body and he was breathing heavily but still he sneered at Rachel as if to say she was an insignificant thing and he was ready to kill her at anytime.
He was defending the exit fiercely as if he were the final boss in some game. She was very tired of mazes. She gave up all pretense and sent a flood of magic towards him. She watched, in satisfaction, as his eyes went wide in realization.
The magic rushed forward in a wide band and engulfed him. Rachel walked directly behind it, perhaps a bit too confident that the spell would work. The spell continued forward, dissipating at the maze exit, to only leave a pile of scales. She looked at them with interest. Her spell should have consumed everything. She collected the scales and left the maze.
