She must come before six." The housekeeper looked uneasy.
"Madam, Mr Han has been sick lately. The doctor had told him to not take too much strain. He is only resting. Would it be okay to worry him?" The housekeeper was not a fool.
She had already a vague idea of what had happened. Who did not know the animosity between mother in law and daughter in law. A friendly dinner? Who was she fooling?
Mrs han stood up with her eyes narrowed.
"Are you testing my authority in this house? If I told you to call her, go and call her." the woman hesitated before nodding and left.
Her eyes narrowed.
"Lei Mei, I have finally found a way to get rid of you." she could not even wait to inform Su Yan.
"Hello, Yan'er. Is Zhou there?" Su Yan had been waiting for this call since she sent the envelope. Her eyes gleamed and a look of victory flashed in her eyes. But when she spoke, her voice was full of innocence.
"Ah, aunty. It had been so long. I thought you had forgotten about me just like your brother Zhou after getting married." she hesitated. "I mean, he is often busy so I thought you were too. Haha!" she laughed awkwardly but how could Mrs Han not understand.
The girl was getting bullied and ignored there. Her heart hurt for her kindness.
"Yan'er, you are suffering so much, yet you are trying to protect Zhou. you should not be this kind or he would keep ignoring you and that vixen would win." the woman sighed worried. "But do not worry, I have found a good card. I will play it and make sure that she will be thrown out of the house. I will surely bring you good news." hearing the soft and worried voice full of love and care, Su Yan smirked with a smug look in her eyes.
"Oh no, you are misunderstanding, aunt. Mr Han is.." she hesitated as if searching for the right words but it only made Mrs Han sigh.
"That is enough, I do not need your excuses. Where is he now?" Su Yan sighed dramatically.
"That… he had gone out for a meeting." she explained. "It is a very important meeting. So aunt, do not disturb him. That contract is very important for him. We both had worked hard on it for weeks. Even last night I stayed awake the whole night to finalise the details and he spent the whole morning reading it. Mr han is very hardworking and.."
"So you worked so hard on the project yet he did not take you with him? You deserve the credit for your hard work, Su Yan." the woman sounded exhausted. "Forget it, come for dinner at home. I will get you all the credit you need. And do not think too much."
"Aunt, I know brother Han cares for me. It is just, he is married now and had to maintain his limits or Mei would misunderstand me. It is his way to protect me. I do not feel bad at all." she sniffled with laughter dancing in her eyes.
Mrs Han sighed. "Su Yan, the one who loves more always loses. I have gone through that path. I wish I could stop you from going there. Forget it, come home. I will invite Zhou too. Alright." The woman exchanged a few more advisory words with Su Yan before cutting the call.
Su Yan laughed sweetly as soon as the call was cut.
"Fall hader! Love more! Oh Aunt, if only you know." her eyes sparkled with joy and she stood up. She had only walked a few steps when the other secretary looked at her curiously.
"Mrs Han needs someone to accompany her for dinner today. I am going to buy her a gift. Can you handle everything here?" Daphne was a foreigner here. She was still learning her ways and knew that Su Yan had contacts with the owner 's family.
She did not dare to stop Su Yan when she wanted to leave work for her.
"Of course, I will complete all the files for you. You can go and accompany madam. I already have completed my work so I am free anyways." the woman smiled with a sweet tone but Su Yan just rolled her eyes.
Without offering her a thank you, she put all her files on Daphne table and left with a smirk.
Once she sighed, Daphne sighed. She took out her phone and sent the picture of all the files she had been asked to complete. Then she started working on them seriously.

Lei Mei had just finished the file. She was still hesitating to submit it because she felt it was not good enough.
But if she did not, she knew her so-called brother would find another reason to call her into his office. She had to deal with him one way or another. At least, if it would be work related, she would still have control over the conversation.
She sighed and stood up only to receive a call. Her eyes narrowed on the screen when she saw it was Mrs Han. The woman never calls her without reason.
"Did you receive a call from the housekeeper?" There were no greetings or a simple hello. The haughty and cold voice showed the dominance and arrogance of the woman on the other side.
Xia Yu inhaled a breath as she forced a smile on her face even when the woman could not see her.
"Mom! What a pleasant surprise. How are you?" she asked sweetly in a loving voice. "I did not receive a call from housekeeper Cheng. Why, what happened? Did she need me or something?" Xia Yu sat on the table again. Since she has received an excuse, she was going to use it.
"You show that you care but you never visit us. Father is sick, yet you do not even know. Come home and meet him, he is asking for you."
