Chapter - 6: Wind Lightning Emperor Inheritance

--------

Li Ming Pov

I watched Ning'er with a hint of amusement, knowing full well what was causing her problems. It was only her pride that kept her from dropping to her knees and begging for help.

My eyes narrowed, and a golden hue began to emerge. Every time I used this ability I had discovered during cultivation, it felt like my eyes could see through everything in this world.

Nothing could remain hidden. Every detail about Ning'er was revealed to me, from her Wind Lightning affinity to the shape of her soul realm, the Winged Dragon. Analyzing what I saw, everything became clear.

I glanced at her briefly and, in a calm but firm voice, said, "Cultivating under the moonlight, which increases Qi Yin, naturally worsens the situation." Our eyes met, the purple in mine, and the light brown in hers. "Your body probably feels like it's trapped in an ice chamber, and it gets worse when you cultivate, right?"

"I don't know the exact name of this condition, but it's obvious that it's slowly damaging your body. I can already see the bruise on your foot, and as if that weren't enough, I can feel the cold radiating from you. In your case, the Yin energy and cold energy you've absorbed are too much for your meridians, and the more you cultivate, the more Qi Yin you'll produce. Once you surpass the bronze rank, you could end up bedridden, losing a significant amount of your cultivation power; in the worst case, you could even die."

Ning'er's despair was plain to see as she collapsed to her knees, staring up at me with wide, sorrowful eyes, tears welling up. "...I've worked so hard," she whispered, barely able to hold back the words.

"...To avoid being married off to someone like Shen Fei, I diligently took those elixirs, studied everything I was told, and cultivated every night for hours, to the point where I'm constantly exhausted during the day. I've spent so much time and effort to get to where I am now, and you're telling me my cultivation could fade, and I could even die if I continue?"

Ning'er could no longer hold back her tears, which streamed down her cheeks. "Li Ming, if you understand my problem, you must know some cure, right?" she asked desperately, her voice growing hysterical with despair and panic. "Please... help me," she begged in a whisper. No longer able to maintain her composure, the desperate girl broke into sobs, crying like a child.

I wasn't the type to be easily moved by such displays, especially without gaining something in return. I stepped closer, gently lifting her chin so her violet eyes met mine.

"In this world, nothing comes for free. If you want something, you must give something in return. That's obvious, isn't it?" I whispered coldly into Ning'er's ear.

"...You want my body?" Ning'er asked, looking up at me with her large brown eyes, slightly reddened, her entire body trembling as she forced out the question with evident difficulty.

I simply smiled, shook my head slightly, and responded in a clearly amused voice, "Unfortunately, unlike some perverts, I have no interest in your body," a comment that made Ning'er's body and mind relax, both of which had been on the verge of collapsing.

"Then what do you want?" Ning'er asked, a hint of anger in her eyes as she bit her lip and looked down, avoiding eye contact with me.

"I want you," I declared with a voice that was both gentle yet cold at the same time, causing her whole body to shiver. Suddenly, she felt a gentle hand on her head, stroking her hair, making her blush slightly from the intimate contact.

"I truly appreciate girls like you, Ning'er. A beauty who possesses both awareness and wisdom. In exchange for your talent and loyalty to me, I will give you the power to stand at the top of this world and never have to submit to anyone who defies your desires."

Something warm filled her chest, and Ning'er could only stare at me through teary eyes, seeing me smile sweetly. Her heart raced in her chest, and her previously cold face warmed in a way it hadn't in a long time.

I continued to gently stroke her hair in a comforting way for a few moments, until Ning'er regained control, and her sobs turned into murmurs before fading away.

Ning'er showed a troubled expression, her eyes still swollen and red. She took a deep breath to control her emotions and said with a determined tone, "As long as you keep your word, I will follow you!"

I displayed a satisfied expression. "Good, it is now time for you to finally reach the bronze rank."

Hearing those words, Ning'er showed a shocked expression and asked me with obvious confusion on her face, "But shouldn't you cure my illness first?"

"Honestly, curing this illness is rather simple. I have no idea how your family doesn't know this; you just need to use redirection techniques," I explained, removing my hand from her head once she had calmed down. Strangely, I could observe a certain confusion and disappointment that I was no longer stroking her hair.

"Redirection techniques?" Ning'er asked, realizing she had never heard of these martial arts techniques before.

"Mhm," I nodded and raised two fingers. A few moments later, a small golden flame surrounded them. "If you'd met someone else, they could have cured your illness simply by using this method... A man who has more abundant Yang Qi than women massages the bruises, drawing out the excess Yin Qi; this is the redirection technique."

I continued, "On the other hand, the man can massage the bruises and inject his Yang Qi into the woman's body to balance the Yin Qi. This method hurts a bit, but it supposedly increases the resilience of those who manage to integrate it."

Ning'er's eyes widened. It seemed incredible to her. If the way I had highlighted the amount of Yin Qi she had accumulated was correct, balancing it with Yang Qi would definitely boost her cultivation. Or at least that's what she believed she understood.

Suddenly, she felt a tap on her forehead. "Ah!" the orange-haired beauty cried out, rubbing her forehead with a small pout on her face. "Why did you do that?" she asked, annoyed, feeling treated like a child.

I pointed my finger at her. "First of all, you need to promise not to cultivate under the moonlight anymore, understood? You can continue cultivating at night, but try to do it indoors, and definitely not for too long."

Ning'er shyly looked down; the way I was looking at her seemed to make her feel good. It was clear she hadn't had many people our age talk to her. "Mhm," she simply nodded in response.

"Good," I suddenly nodded as if remembering something, then extended my hand. "Let me take a look at your cultivation technique."

"Huh?" Ning'er exclaimed, blinking in surprise. It was such a bold request that no one from a noble family with common sense would make—to let me see her family's cultivation technique just because I asked... pure madness.

But what need would I have to deceive her about her cultivation technique? Clearly, whatever I was doing was far superior to what she was practicing...

"Alright," Ning'er nodded, raising her hand and pulling out the scroll of her cultivation technique from her spatial ring, then handed it to me. As she passed it, her fingers brushed against mine, and the memory of my gentle yet firm touch on her head made her blush.

I didn't seem to notice that intimate contact as I opened the scroll and examined her family's cultivation technique. "Ah. I see. Winged Lightning Cultivation, right?" I said, observing the scroll before sighing and shaking my head.

"This technique is terrible. The meridian pulse method here, which simulates lightning through them, is an interesting touch and would certainly increase cultivation speed. But it's too aggressive and would burn out the meridians. It's no wonder you contracted an illness from Yin Qi so easily. Using this definitely makes you more susceptible to Qi-based ailments."

I honestly couldn't understand how a descendant of one of the greatest families in Glory City could be practicing such a trash cultivation technique, but perhaps my standards were just too high by now.

"Eh?" Ning'er blinked.

It was honestly amusing to see her reaction, which clearly showed what she was thinking. I had only glanced at her technique for a few seconds, yet I had already found a flaw in one of her family's cultivation techniques that had existed for hundreds of years?

I sighed slightly as I entered my sea of consciousness; in front of me, I saw that white space again with millions of cultivation manuals floating around me.

I closed my eyes as my soul force expanded outward, carefully searching through every single cultivation manual in front of me, before grabbing one with an iron grip.

"Wind Lightning Emperor Inheritance!" I whispered, as every piece of information from the cultivation manual was absorbed by me.

I looked at the girl in front of me with a serious and profound gaze, speaking in a tone that left no room for debate: "This cultivation technique I am about to teach you is for you alone, and it is far stronger than the one you're practicing now. Do not disappoint me."

Ning'er quickly nodded and began paying close attention as I shared with her the Legacy of the Thunder and Wind Emperor technique. The shyness on her face was quickly replaced by shock, and before she even realized it, she pulled out a white scroll and a silver pen from her spatial ring.

"Wait, Li Ming!" she quickly blurted, "Can you repeat that again? I want to transcribe it!"

I sighed, "Couldn't you have told me that earlier?" I complained, though without any real anger, just a small unbothered smile. "You're lucky you're cute."

Ning'er blushed all the way down to her neck, trying to maintain a dignified expression, but without much success, which only made the smile on my lips grow—it was really amusing to tease her.

After finishing the cultivation technique lesson, I decided to move on to a more pressing matter; after all, we had already spent enough time in this place...

"It's time to treat your illness. I need physical contact; I can't treat you otherwise," I explained in a careful tone, nearly causing her to sink into the ground from embarrassment.

"...Mhm," Ning'er nodded shyly, grasping the buttons of her shirt with trembling hands as she stared straight ahead, her cheeks visibly red from the embarrassment.

With great discomfort, she removed her top, leaving only her pink lace bra. "...I'm ready," Xiao Ning'er murmured, visibly uneasy, with her dress tied around her waist to cover herself as much as possible, her feet fidgeting on the floor.

Her bra barely contained her breasts, which rose and fell visibly with each breath. I nodded and moved closer to her, ignoring her embarrassment, as I touched an intimate spot on her body and activated the blood energy to ensure a reciprocal exchange of Yin Qi and Yang Qi.

"Ahhnn~..." A moan escaped from Xiao Ning'er's lips, making me smile in amusement, further increasing her discomfort.

Feeling my touch beneath her chest, Xiao Ning'er's body trembled, and she lowered her chin, trying to hide. She couldn't stop her heart from racing, nor the overwhelming feeling of embarrassment washing over her.

However, the touch of my strong yet gentle, warm hands, along with the powerful Qi energy flowing through her meridians, brought her a deep sense of security.

Usually, Ning'er hated how people would look at her maturing body. But while my gaze on her embarrassed her, she also felt strangely proud. Her face was red as a tomato, but she couldn't hide the radiant smile that slipped out.

I slowly tried to absorb all the Yin Qi into my dantian, while using my Yang Qi to refine it, aiming to reach the silver rank. The process was slow, to avoid harming Ning'er, but I made sure that part of the refined energy entered her body as well.

At that moment, Ning'er wanted to tell me to stop. It felt like thousands of ants were crawling across her body, and she had butterflies in her stomach. But noticing that I was in a deep state of cultivation, she decided to stay silent and endure.

Ning'er: Rank 1 Bronze Star!

Li Ming: Rank 1 Silver Star!

"Incredible!" Ning'er whispered, shocked, as she looked at me with adoring eyes. Not only had she surpassed the bronze rank, but she no longer felt any pain from her illness.

"I see you've made good use of the opportunity I gave you," I said, opening my eyes as I stabilized my cultivation.

"Yes, thank you..." Ning'er replied with a happy smile as tears streamed down her face. I simply shook my head at the sight, comforting her for a few minutes before stepping away—after all, I had things to prepare.
