Chapter 68 - Chapter 30.9 - On the Edge of Eternity

At the zenith of his power at high noon, Throk could feel the energy in his body pulsing at its peak. Yet, to his frustration, Orpheus's unmatched power felt even more overwhelming, and Throk knew it still wouldn't be enough to surpass him. As the two exchanged intense blows, a green aura enveloped the World Mystic Tree. The legendary power massively absorbed solar energy, enhancing its mystical abilities. Throk, feeling the tree's power coursing through his veins, unleashed his next attack with fervor.

- Throk: "Ancestral Prison!" – he shouted, summoning roots that burst from the ground, binding Orpheus and draining his energy. Throk didn't stop there, feeling the scorching heat of the Big Sun growing in his hands.

- Throk: "Let's see if you're immune to my true self!" – roared Throk, as a wave of intense solar flames engulfed Orpheus, scorching his armor. Yet Orpheus seemed to be made of unbreakable steel. Using his Vital Slumber power, he quickly healed, and with a dark glint in his eyes, he activated Reviviscence to stay awake and revitalized, staring at Throk with a disdainful smile.

At that moment, Raiga and his allies arrived at the House of Ophiuchus. They found Throk and Elliot fallen, defeated. The sight was devastating, and no one could understand how Throk, with all his power, had been overcome.

Raiga, holding the Lion Sword in his hand, took a deep breath. He knew he couldn't hesitate.

- Raiga: "You're about to witness the true power of a lion emissary!" – he shouted, activating Resonance, quintupling the size and power of his sword. His blade blazed with the fire element as he unleashed a massive strike.

- Raiga: "This is for my brother—Blaze!!!" – The blade slashed through the air in a flaming arc, striking Orpheus's helmet and revealing an enigmatic and merciless gaze behind the armor.

Orpheus grinned wickedly, activating his Nemesis technique. In an instant, Raiga's Lion armor and ring were corrupted, turning a deep, ominous black. Raiga felt his strength and power draining. With one final cry of resistance, he collapsed, his energy nearly drained to the brink of death.

Arion and Gyuuma watched in horror, but they knew retreat wasn't an option. Arion raised his Aries Spear, feeling the weight of his fallen friend's legacy. He used his Limited Telekinesis to enhance the reach and precision of his weapon.

- Arion: "Piercing Spear!" – he cried, charging at Orpheus.

Orpheus, with a calm gesture, easily blocked the blow. The spear, which could pierce steel, didn't even scratch the Ophiuchus black armor.

- Orpheus: "I am the embodiment of pure chaos..." – murmured Orpheus. – "You don't stand a chance."

The scene shifts to the House of Pisces. As the Limbo fades, Zyndera's voice echoes in Midoki's soul, awakening the prophecy once foretold by the Witch. At that decisive moment, Vagnos appears at the House of Pisces, fulfilling Raiga's words and revealing himself as the one destined to aid Midoki. He uses an innate technique to link his aura with Midoki's, preventing Limbo from consuming his soul entirely.

Midoki, surprised by the appearance of the Virgo Emissary, suggests that Vagnos—being more powerful—should confront Orpheus directly. However, Vagnos explains that his heart is still pierced, and as long as his eyes remain closed, he can contain the wound through his spiritual core.

Yet, if he opens his eyes, his vitality would vanish. Accepting Vagnos's imminent sacrifice, Midoki receives a fraction of his spiritual energy as a gift of strength and hope.

Before departing, Vagnos assures Elyra that Midoki will return—sooner or later—to continue his mission. With that promise, the Virgo Emissary heads toward the House of Ophiuchus, moving toward the final confrontation of this epic journey.

Back at the House of Ophiuchus. While Orpheus was occupied with Arion, Gyuuma prepared for his strike. He summoned his legendary 30,000-Ton Tunic, drastically increasing the gravity around him as he charged at Orpheus with the force of an earthquake.

- Gyuuma: "Let's see if you can handle the Tectonic Swing!" – Gyuuma shouted, delivering a direct blow.

To his surprise, the impact reverberated through Orpheus's bones, creating a crack in the previously impenetrable defense. Orpheus staggered, surprised by Gyuuma's strength.

- Orpheus: "Not bad, Bull. Not bad at all..." – he said through gritted teeth.

Arion joined Gyuuma for a final assault, both unleashing their ultimate abilities.

- Gyuuma: "Gigamoto!" – Gyuuma roared.

- Arion: "Final Radiance!" – Arion cried.

Together, they launched the God's Resplendent Tremor.

The explosion of power shook the foundations of the House of Ophiuchus, and a devastating wave struck Orpheus, causing fractures in his armor. Yet, to the warriors' despair, Orpheus's body remained intact—only more determined.

When all seemed lost, Vagnos of Virgo arrived, radiating an unmatched presence of calm and overwhelming power. Wasting no time, he unleashed the Elemental Divine Chains, each one imbued with a different elemental force.

- Vagnos:"This is the end for you, Orpheus." – Vagnos focused, his eyes closed, immersed in an almost supernatural tranquility.

Orpheus, wielding his Ophiuchus Scepter, transformed it into Libra's Twin Shield and Cavalry Spear, cloaked in shadows. With expert skill, he blocked the chains using the shield. A cosmic dance of light and darkness filled the battlefield, creating an epic spectacle.

- Orpheus:"Nothing born of light can destroy me, Vagnos!" – Orpheus shouted, an evil gleam in his eyes.

Vagnos stared down Orpheus and invoked the Portal of Chaos. In an instant, he transported Orpheus to an alternate universe, triggering a fragmentation of the opponent's soul. But Orpheus, cunning and ruthless, retaliated with Cellular Degradation, a devastating psychic ability meant to paralyze Vagnos and initiate a gradual breakdown of his cells.

As the tension escalated, Orpheus exploited Vagnos' momentary weakness and launched Vital Somnolence, a technique that not only healed his wounds but also induced a deep, paralyzing sleep.

Vagnos succumbed to the power of the spell, plunging into a torpor that allowed Orpheus to intensify his assault. He then awakened Vagnos using Reviviscence and followed it with the Reopening of Agony, amplifying every wound, ripping them open anew and heightening the pain.

In response, Vagnos opened his eyes, releasing a power he had long kept sealed, ascending to Semi-God (Rank S+). With this new strength, he activated the ability of the Six Destinies, casting Orpheus through multiple planes of existence. Each plane bore a unique essence and challenge, forcing Orpheus to face countless realities and dimensions. The battle between Vagnos and Orpheus had now reached its climax, pushing the conflict to unimaginable heights and setting the stage for the final chapter of this epic saga.

Orpheus felt despair consume him as he was thrown across the Six Destinies. First, the Scorching Desert, where the sand burned his flesh and the heat taunted him with illusions. Then, he was dragged into the Abyss of the Damned, where specters tormented him, trying to drain every drop of his sanity.

- Orpheus:"No... I am Ophiuchus!!" – he cried, trying to resist.

In the Jungle of Predators, he was hunted by relentless beasts that never tired. In the Cycle of Massacre, he was forced to relive his own death, feeling each stab of defeat with unbearable intensity. Upon reaching the Reflection of Humanity, his deepest insecurities overwhelmed him, and he watched his confidence crumble before his eyes.

In the final stage, the Dark Eden, he was embraced by an illusory happiness.

- Orpheus:"Is it you? Eurydice??" – he said in a surprised, joyful tone, tears falling from his eyes.

Only to be cast into an immense void, shattering him completely. And yet, Orpheus found strength in his cunning. With a final flicker of energy, he used Mental Awakening, breaking free from the cycle and returning to the battlefield.

Orpheus reemerged, transformed. His skin now gray and cracked with black lines exuding a dark aura, his divine power elevated to the level of a God (Rank E). Vagnos saw and felt the imminent danger.

- Vagnos:"It's time to end this, once and for all, Orpheus!" – he said with unwavering resolve.

Gathering every fragment of his remaining life energy, Vagnos summoned the Goddess's Explosion, a forbidden technique.

At that very moment, Midoki, still trapped in the Limbo, began to remember everything that truly mattered: Elyra, his friends, the Kingdom of Lior, the formation of the Templars, and the memories he still had to recover. His spirit trembled. Elyra, watching over him with concern, saw the light of his soul begin to resonate. She held his body and embraced him.

- Elyra:"Midoki, come back to us..." – she whispered.

Midoki opened his eyes, smiling at her.

- Midoki:"Elyra, it's okay. I'm here. But... we have no time to waste. Something great is coming." – his words carried a dark undertone.

The battle raged on, as Vagnos channeled every remaining trace of vital energy from his companions Raiga, Gyuuma, and Arion to amplify the Goddess's Explosion. Orpheus tried to resist, but was consumed by the overwhelming force of the technique, vanishing into a cloud of dust.

Midoki arrived at the Ophiuchus Temple at that moment, witnessing Vagnos's final sacrifice. Vagnos turned to Midoki, his words laden with a fateful truth.

- Vagnos:"Now, it's up to you." – and with a final smile of gratitude and peace, Vagnos dissolved into sparkling dust, along with Raiga, Arion, and Gyuuma.

But one final surprise awaited. The Valhalla Jewel pulsed, and Orpheus reemerged in his monstrous, shadowed form—his Corrupted Form.

The atmosphere grew heavy, silence foreshadowing the final confrontation between Midoki and Orpheus, who now, in his Corrupted Form, awaited the epic conclusion of the Olympus saga.
