Chapter 57 - Chapter 28.1 - The Shadows in the Light

The soft morning breeze danced through the trees as Lilya made her way toward Mount Olympus, her mind full of turbulent memories. The echoes of a recent past still reverberated in her soul, especially the confrontation that would alter everyone's fate.

Flashback:

Lucifer stood before Lilya and Aeris, his eyes burning with an unsettling urgency.

- Lucifer: "The Forbidden Fruit… I need it," he muttered, almost to himself, as his fingers reached out toward the gleaming object.

- Lilya: "Why do you need that, Lucifer?" she asked, concern building in her voice. "You're not making sense. What do you intend to achieve by reviving someone?"

The tension in the air was palpable, and before anyone could react, the battle began. Lucifer lunged forward with a ferocity that made Lilya's heart race. Aeris, on the other hand, faced the hordes of demons, fighting valiantly to protect the other fairies.

- Aeris: "Lilya, watch out!" Aeris shouted as she struck down a demon, but her voice was swallowed by the chaos of the battle.

Lilya turned just in time to see Lucifer, his aura pulsing with power—more intense than ever. The seal of the Underworld had been broken, and now he held a power level of God (Grade C).

- Lucifer: "Brace yourself, dear friend," he said as he summoned his spiritual technique, Celestial Flames. Light and darkness collided in a dazzling display of energy, and Lilya felt her Halberd vibrate, resonating with a power she didn't yet fully understand.

The tension in the air was tangible, and once again the clash erupted. Lucifer charged with merciless power, while Aeris fought tooth and nail to protect her sisters of light.

- Aeris: "Stay away from them!" she screamed, her radiant energy flaring as she struck down a low-ranking demon. But in her moment of triumph, another mysterious demon appeared. After slaying the lesser one, its body corroded until its light vanished.

- Lilya: "Aeris!" Lilya screamed, consumed by pain and fury. Blinded by rage, she awakened a portion of her halberd's true power. "First Form: Materialize and Fourth Form: Knight Armor!" The halberd transformed, shaping itself into armor that wrapped around her while maintaining its weapon form.

Lucifer smiled at the awakening of his "friend."

- Lucifer: "You have no idea who you're dealing with, dear friend," he said, summoning more of his spiritual techniques.

Infernal Devastation—a blast of black energy surged toward Lilya. She countered with Radiant Tempest, light and shadow clashing in the air.

- Lucifer: "Sweet dreams, dear friend," his voice echoed in Lilya's mind as the darkness enveloped her.

When she finally awoke, the Fairy Island was ablaze in shadowy flames. The great tree Yggdrasil, once a symbol of life and beauty, now crumbled slowly. The heat was unbearable, and her Bastion Halberd felt worn and weary.

Lilya remembered Lucifer's ominous words:

- Lucifer:"The Kingdom of Lior will have a little surprise soon." Panic overtook her.

- Lilya: "I have to get to Lior!" Resolute, she activated the Second Form: Makura-Bastion and dashed toward the Kingdom of Lior.

End of Flashback

Cut to Present: The Showdown at the Foot of Mount Olympus

Lilya finally caught up to Lucifer, her body still burning with pain and anger. Yet her resolve never wavered. The clash was inevitable.

- Lilya: "You won't take what's ours, Lucifer!" she shouted, activating the Fifth Form: Sentinel. The halberd transformed into a small dragon and lunged at Lucifer, who laughed, mocking the effort.

Meanwhile, a new scene unfolded in the distance. In his domain within the Kingdom of Lior, Mammon was fending off the fragmented remnants of Lilya's halberd as they flew toward him.

- Mammon: "Even with a worn halberd, she still holds this much power?" he thought, dodging blades slicing through the air.

The battle escalated as each fighter pushed their abilities to the limit. Lilya felt her halberd connecting with the surrounding energy.

- Lilya: "Sentinel, bring down the Forbidden Fruit!" she cried. The dragon struck the fruit, sending it plummeting toward the ocean—but Lucifer, faster than lightning, pierced Lilya with one of his swords.

- Lucifer: "Creation of Metallic Blades!" he called out, summoning a rain of slicing swords from thin air. The blades clashed with the dragon, but not before Lilya had redirected the strike toward the Forbidden Fruit.

- Lucifer: "No, you won't!" he roared—but it was too late. The fruit fell into the ocean, lost to the Abyssal Depths.

Exhausted, Lilya let her guard down for a moment—and Lucifer took advantage. With a swift move, he impaled her with one of his swords.

- Lucifer: "You're persistent, like a tick that won't come off."

With her heart pounding, Lilya used her transformation perk, turning into a fish before sinking into the ocean, pain etched into her being. As she drifted downward, Lucifer's rage echoed across the island at the foot of Mount Olympus.

But before disappearing into the depths, Lilya had marked Lucifer—an invisible mark that now linked her to him.

Lucifer soared toward Mount Olympus, quickly communicating with a Celestial Wanderer to relay urgent news.

- Celestial Wanderer: "Orpheus has been informed that you lost the Forbidden Fruit," said the Wanderer, his voice tinged with concern.

Lucifer inhaled deeply, his gaze hardening.

- Lucifer: "What did he say?"

- Celestial Wanderer: "He said it's not a problem, my lord. He has other plans," the Wanderer replied.

With an enigmatic smile, Lucifer declared:

- Lucifer: "Then let us move forward."

And with a powerful thrust, he soared toward the summit of Mount Olympus, determined to follow the new path Orpheus had laid—while the storm on the horizon brewed, promising even greater chaos.

The final scene closed on a circle of blood where Lilya had fallen, slowly dissolving into the ocean waters, as the storm prepared to unleash a new wave of devastation.
