Maxwell felt that he was a pretty reasonable guy. Sure, he was ruthless when it came to things involving those he cared about, but he could be reasoned with. He could even be swayed from his line of reasoning if they put up a good enough fight. They might get intimidated along the way, but that wasn't his fault.
It wasn't fair to blame his facial expressions when he was listening to idiots talk. That was just who he was.
With that being said, he was pretty sure he had put on the performance of a lifetime during this whole situation. He had done his best to keep his own facial expressions under control given that Andrew was not stable right now.
He was putting on a great show of pretending that he was, but Maxwell could tell. He knew that he wasn't. It was in the subtle way he shifted to make sure that Maxwell was always protected from others he deemed as threats. That included a long list of everyone, everything, and anything you could imagine.
