Chapter 180 - Chapter 180: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE

[Third Person's PoV]

Ultron flew toward Tony, his fist overflowing with plasma energy. Tony quickly generated an energy shield, blocking the impact of the strike. Without hesitation, he lunged at Ultron, tackling him midair and sending both of them crashing into the ground—right beside the doomsday device.

Tony aimed his repulsors at Ultron, but the AI dodged at the last second, countering with a powerful blast before grabbing Tony and flipping him over, pinning him to the ground.

Ultron's hand superheated, glowing ominously as he prepared to slice Tony's head off. But Tony wasn't alone.

Both Stark and Vision attacked simultaneously—Stark unleashing a devastating unibeam from his chest, while Vision fired a concentrated energy blast from the Mind Stone on his forehead. The combined force sent Ultron hurtling through the sky.

Stark approached Tony, extending a hand. "You alright, kid?"

Tony took his hand and stood up. "Yeah… I just wasn't expecting him to be that strong."

Just then, Melissa dropped from the sky, landing on one knee before rising to her feet. "I didn't miss the party, did I?"

Tony stared at Melissa and at what she was wearing for a few seconds before he smirked. "You know exactly what I'm thinking, right?"

Melissa's cheeks reddened slightly before she punched him in the arm. "Not in front of everyone, you idiot."

One by one, the others arrived—Pietro, Wanda, Thor, Steve, Natasha, Clint, and Hulk.

The moment Hulk laid eyes on Wanda and Pietro, he let out a deep growl, clearly remembering their last encounter.

Meanwhile, Ultron floated just outside the ruined church, silently watching them.

Thor raised his sword. "Ha! This is your end, metal man! You don't stand a chance alone!"

Ultron tilted his head. "Alone?"

He extended his hand, and suddenly, an army of Sentinels began to rise, their glowing eyes illuminating the battlefield. Thousands of them emerged, forming an impenetrable wave advancing toward the heroes.

Steve turned to Thor. "You just had to say something, didn't you?"

Tony grinned. "Please say the thing."

"The thing?" Steve asked, confused.

"Say the words, Captain!" Tony urged excitedly.

Ultron hovered above, his voice dripping with arrogance. "This is exactly what I wanted—all of you against all of me. Although the circumstances could have been better, it matters not. Once you're dead, I'll reinitiate Project Doomsday."

"Not if we have anything to say about it" Steve said as he took a deep breath, eyes locked onto the approaching Sentinels.

"AVENGERS—ASSEMBLE!"

With a mighty roar, Hulk charged first, smashing a Sentinel into scrap metal. The rest of the team followed, each attacking in unison.

Tony, nearly in tears from excitement, thought, 'He said it! He actually said it! This is a nerd's dream come true!' Tony began to hum the Avenger Theme song in his excitement.

He lifted into the air, his hands shifting into railgun cannons crackling with energy before unleashing massive plasma beams that tore through the Sentinels.

Melissa spun her hammer at blinding speed, uppercutting a Sentinel into pieces before slamming it down, summoning a massive lightning bolt that fried several more.

Steve spun midair, dodging an attack before bringing his shield down on another Sentinel. The one he evaded was swiftly caught by Vision, who ripped it apart with his bare hands.

Natasha converted her omni-weapons into high-powered rifles, firing rapid energy blasts at the incoming Sentinels. Beside her, Clint loosed multiple explosive arrows, triggering chain reactions that obliterated enemy ranks.

Thor cleaved through Sentinels with his sword, then hurled it toward an advancing line, slicing through them effortlessly. Extending his hand, he momentarily forgot that he wasn't summoning Mjolnir. When the sword unexpectedly returned to him, he grinned widely before continuing his assault.

Wanda moved her hands in fluid motions, controlling the Sentinels with ease, smashing them into the ground like ragdolls. Meanwhile, Pietro zipped around the battlefield, dismantling the machines with sheer speed and precision.

Stark spun midair, unleashing repulsor beams in all directions while weaving through enemy fire, dodging as many attacks as possible.

Tony activated an energy receiver on his back, shaped almost like a star. No words were needed—Melissa knew exactly what to do. Their synergy was seamless.

Pressing her hammer against the receiver's core, she channeled a surge of electricity into Tony's suit. In seconds, his energy levels skyrocketed to 1,000%.

The endpoints of the receiver shifted, locking onto the swarming Sentinels. Tony raised his fingers, palms, and chest toward them.

Then, in a dazzling display of power, he unleashed an overwhelming barrage of energy beams—from his back, hands, and chest—all at once. A blinding wave of destruction tore through the Sentinels, obliterating them in an instant.

Ultron charged forward, but before he could reach Tony, Vision intercepted him. Grabbing Ultron mid-air, Vision slammed him into a nearby wall, cracking the structure. Ultron retaliated with a plasma blast, but Vision phased through it, then countered with a concentrated Mind Stone beam, launching Ultron out of the ruined church.

Tony, Stark, Melissa, and Vision rushed after him.

Melissa aimed her hammer, releasing a powerful lightning stream. Vision fired another beam from the Mind Stone. Simultaneously, Tony and Stark unleashed twin repulsor blasts from their palms.

Their combined assault struck Ultron head-on. He tried to resist, but the sheer force pushed him back, his metallic frame glowing red-hot under the relentless energy. His outer shell cracked, pieces melting away as his red eyes flickered.

Even with his immense resilience, Ultron was faltering. His body was breaking apart.

As the energy blasts ceased, he staggered, his face partially melted and deformed. Yet, despite the damage, he slowly rose from the ground.

"You know… with the benefit of hindsight—"

ROAR!

Out of nowhere, Hulk slammed his fist into Ultron, sending him rocketing through the air.

Tony winced slightly. "Oof. He's definitely gonna feel that in the morning."

Stark scoffed. "That's if he's still activated to feel it at all."

Nearby, the remaining Sentinels hesitated, staring at Hulk with what almost seemed like fear. But when Hulk let out another thunderous roar and charged toward them, they turned and began retreating.

"They're trying to escape," Tony observed. "We can't let even one of them get away! Melissa—"

"I'm on it!" she shouted.

Lifting her hammer high, she summoned a massive bolt of lightning that struck the sky. Thunder rumbled as dark clouds swirled above, thickening by the second.

She spun her hammer rapidly, sending more lightning surging into the storm. The heavens roared, the clouds now black with electric fury.

With a fierce battle cry, she swung her hammer downward.

Lightning erupted from the storm, raining down in a relentless barrage. Each bolt struck its target unerringly, obliterating the fleeing Sentinels mid-flight. The sky was filled with explosions as burning scraps of metal rained down like shooting stars.

Thor, watching the display with astonishment, couldn't help but be impressed. "How are you already so skilled with Mjolnir? It took me ages to master it."

Melissa smirked, puffing out her chest as she dramatically flipped her hair. "You just have to be smart."

Thor turned toward Stark. "Is she implying that I, the Prince of Asgard, am stupid?"

Stark and Tony simply patted him on the shoulder.
