Maladus swung around with his flail aiming for Evan Nokios head.Evan Nokio for his part ducked just in time for the flail to whistle by above his head.
Maladus prepared for another strike however he felt something collide with his shoulder.He didn't budge but the sound of breaking glass made itself known.Maladus felt a tingling on his skin.
He looked down at his left shoulder to see his clothing in that area dissolving and his skin reddening from exposure to some type of chemical.Some chemical gas began to permeate the air and it made Maladus's eyes water.
In the distance Maladus was able to see another vial filled with unknown chemicals being thrown towards him by the boss monster.Maladus was rammed by Evan Nokio and was sent flying before it could land.Maladus created a deep crater where he landed in the wall but was left with mild bruising.
Evan's flesh was a bright pink with his muscles swelling and his veins and arteries purple.His body was glowing with even more powerful mana.Maladus didn't know what Evan did but he was now physically far more powerful.
His speed was the same however so Maladus was still confident he could win.Maladus freed himself from the crater in the wall.As he landed his feet on the ground he became aware of the crimson gas that was rapidly filling the room.
Maladus wanted to put a gas mask on but it appeared that Evan wasn't going to let him do so.The crimson gas filled the room and most of his comrades were still in their respective fights.
Maladus inhaled the crimson fog and decided it was harmless for the time being.It simply made it slightly harder to breathe.He saw that the boss was loading a type of pistol with one of the small canisters of chemical liquid.
Maladus didn't want to figure out what the chemical pistol did and knew he had to finish this quickly.He readied a grenade and chucked it as Doctor Silas got his gun ready.
Doctor Silas saw the grenade coming.The difference between Doctor Silas and Detective Grimshaw was that Doctor Silas actually knew what a grenade was.This was what made all the difference.
Doctor Silas looked on through his gas mask and shot the grenade midair as it was still some distance away.The flames didn't consume anyone but the shrapnel did lodge themselves in the bodies of some of the monsters.
This helped some of the operatives finish their fights quicker and ease the pressure on some of their comrades.Vergil finished his fight and chose to go for the boss.
Maladus switched his attention back to Evan.Evan charged and readied his syringe hand to inject Maladus with some chemicals.Maladus swung his flail attempting to create distance while simultaneously attacking Evan.
Evan stopped his charge and unleashed a ferocious kick.Maladus switched from attacking to guarding as he blocked and lashed out with the bottom end of the flail.
The force of the blow embedded an imprint into Evan's enhanced muscles and breaking ribs and skin.Evan staggered back allowing Maladus to shatter one of his legs with one of the power fields from his flail.
Evan was brought down to his ass with his remaining knee bent.Evan still didn't relent however as he lunged with his syringe fingers.This was met by Maladus shattering his hand with his flail.Evan still wouldn't quit however so the device on his head let out a large electric discharge to electrocute Maladus.
Maladus was able to endure the high voltage and splattered Evans head with his advanced flail.Maladus looked on as Evans body was slowly dissolving and being consumed by the dungeon.
"Is everyone else done" Maladus voice made itself known as he observed his surroundings.The crimson gas was disappearing as well.
"Yep all done" Vergil spoke up as he stood over the dissolving body of Doctor Silas.As he said that a large tremor ran through the air and ground.It was as if space itself was being distorted.
A breaking sound of metal permeated the air and a rectangular doorway of light made itself appeared in the boss room.
"I thought as much this dungeon has developed multiple floors.What did the boss drop?" Sarah spoke in a neutral tone.
"He dropped some large device called Doctor Silas bodily enhancement device.It has the ability to modify a living creatures body with battle chemicals and stimulants through different automated surgeries.This greatly increases the creatures physical capabilites.The chemicals and stimulants permenantly become a part of the persons body and is able to be produced naturally.It seems complicated to use but we should be able to master it with some testing."
"Store it and let's head to the second floor."
