[Land Of Hidden Waterfall]
Team 8 were tasked to find the reason behind the disappearance of seven-tail Jinchuriki, Fuu.
Tsunade asked this mission to be taken by Kurenai and her team because of their excellent record regarding search missions. Their party was technically formed with search and tracking in mind and thus they were perfect for this mission.
"Did you find anything ?" Kurenai asked others. She was the only one who wasn't much help in tracking missions.
After all what a Genjutsu expert could do in a case like this. But she still does her best, from teaching her team to helping out when conflict can't be avoided.
"No Kurenai Sensei. I can't see anything suspicious with my Bayakugan." Hinata said with a frown.
"Same here, my bugs find nothing here. They are even behaving differently since this was the place where Jinchuriki of the Seven Tail used to be." Shino said with an ever-so-stoic voice and pushed his glasses up.
"What does that have to do with your bugs Shino San… ?" Hinata asked, unlike the Hinata in the Cannon Shippuden Timeline, this Hinata was much different, not only she was confident but she was also not afraid to say what she thought. Of course, she was always polite. Since no matter how confident, Hinata was still Hinata.
"Seven Tail, she is a bug Biju. Obviously, the strongest Bug there is. So they are a little afraid." Shino replied.
"Ah… It makes sense." Hinata nodded.
"What about you Kiba, did you and Akamaru find anything ?" Asked Kurenai. In his experience, Hinata Bayakugan is only useful in close combat or chase missions in their team while Shino's bugs do great in search missions.
As for tracking, that was Kiba and Akamaru Shines. So right now Kiba's outcome was more important any others.
"This is strange ?" Kiba said with a strange look on his face.
"Wuff…" Akamaru too agreed as he barked.
"What's strange," Kurenai asked.
"I can smell something familiar here, right Akamaru ?" Kiba asked, he knew that he knew this smell but couldn't remember where he smelled this before.
"Wuff…"
"This, I have smelled this before. This got to be a person I know…" Kiba pondered and thought while others waited for him. None had any lead so the only person they could rely on right now was Kiba.
He took his time but finally, his mind clicked in.
"Shika…"
"Wuff…" Hearing his owner Akamaru too nodded.
"Shika-Kun ?"
"Shika San ?"
"Shika ?"
Hinata, Shino and Kurenai all turn to Kiba with strange faces, like asking how Shika came into this equation ?"
"This Smell, this is Shika's smell. I know it." Kiba said as he stiffened the house where Fuu lived once again, to verify his claims once again.
"What? Kiba are you sure…" Kurenai frowned. Kiba currently was talking about her student who was outside of the hidden leaf for a long time. This could be taken very wrong by others if this information came out.
"Wuff…" Before Kiba could say it, Akamaru barked, stating that he too believed that this was Shika's scent.
A silence spread around all over them. None spoke anything for a while before Hinata finally said.
"I don't believe Shika-Kun will do something like this. It's not possible." Hinata said and others also nodded.
"Hinata is right, deciding just by the smell is not right. We need to bring this matter to The Hokage first." Kurenai said with a frown on her face.
This mission just became more complicated than its already complicated nature as they were dealing with a Jinchuriki of another village.
That was the only lead they had and besides that, they didn't have any other way to track down the Jinchuriki besides relying on Shino's insect network to bring back good news. So it was time to go back to the village and say this to Hokage.
Hinata though was conflicted, she fully believed Shika but even she knew this would cause misunderstanding for him.
"Where are you, Shika Kun ?" She can't help but raise her beautiful eyes up to the sky and ask this….

[Unknown Location]
"Where the hell am I ?" Shika muttered to himself while his eyes wide open in disbelief. So much has happened in the past few hours for him to digest it all.
He remembers coming up with a wicked plan.
The Plan went horribly wrong, thanks to his slight miscalculation. And lastly, he was here, flying on top of Nue, a ridiculous look on his face.
'Wait a minute, let's backtrack, did I overlook something ?' He muttered to himself.

[Flash Back]
"With this Treasure I Summon…MAHORAGA…" Shika shouted and poured much of his Chakra/Curse energy to summon the bane of every Ten Shadow Existence in times they are feeling competent.
The towering figure of Mahoraga appeared in front of him only for a second before he went to form another handsign, this was also a technique which ranks as one of his strongest.
"Domain Expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden…".
Around him shadow manifested, and he was covered with his domain. But he wasn't planning on targeting Mahoraga to trap inside his domain. No, in fact, he was planning the exact opposite of his.
His crazy plan was to use Deidara's final explosion to take down Mahoraga. He knew that as long as no one was within the range of 200 meters, Mahoraga's contract ritual would not be affected. This means that as long as he was under 200 meters, he could even use a Nuke to beat Mahoraga.
The only problem was to find an attack so powerful in Ninja world besides Tail beat Bombs which of course is almost impossible to get until he goes Biju hunting anytime soon.
Even if he finds a Bijudama for himself, arguably possible with Naruto, Fuu and a few others who could help him, he also has to come up with a way to survive that Biju Dama which will be launched at Mahoraga and himself from 200 meters away by the way.
This is when his Nara gray matters kicked in and he planned to use his Domain.
Domains are typically designed to trap opponents inside while being very weak from the outside. But there was a way.
For just once, he could reverse the domain effect with a binding vow, this time making the outside stronger. Protecting him not only from the Blast but also Mahoraga, it just that it wasn't Biju dama like he planned but now it was Deidara's self-explosion.
Or that is what he planned, but as Madara said, nothing goes as planned in this accursed world. Things didn't go well for him either.
He knew that Mahoraga would adapt to the domain soon, all he needed was half a minute. There when his calculation went wrong. Mahoraga didn't need to adapt to his domain completely, after all, half adaptation was also fine with the level of strength that guy had.
In just two hits he broke the domain which was designed to block attacks from outside.
Shika's eyes went wide when he saw Mahora's sword coming right at him. It only barely missed him becuase that when one of his other Shikigami inside his domain acted up, blocking the attack for Shika. However, he lost that Shikigami.
Funeral Tiger was lost completely then.
But if that wasn't all, the explosion came just after his domain had a huge freaking hole in it.
[Flash Back End]

When Shika woke up, he found his head pounding, breath haggard and clothes in a complete mess. But surprisingly he was fine.
His last-second plan B to save himself in case things go south worked. Cost him much but he was still breathing and that was all that mattered.
He looked around only to find himself in a forest, the strange thing was that the forest was without any track of the fight. Like the fight never happened.
He had no idea what was going on. Suddenly the right side of his head ached and only then did he realise that his vision was incomplete.
'It really took a lot…' Shika muttered with a sigh.
To get out of that situation he had to activate Izanagi. And thus he lost his right eye. Good thing he had a Sharingan or things could have been really bad, The same could be said about him getting all the Danzo's research about Sharingan and other things to know how to use Izanagi in the first place.
He completely lost his visibility in his right eye while his left eye felt more powerful than ever. Actually, he hardly used Sharingan outside of a few instances, Rinnegan was more powerful, and both abilities of Rinnegan were useful to him and thus losing either one of them would have costed him too much. So he put a binding vow to shift the powers around. Put all of his Sharingan powers on the right while put his both rinnegan powers on his left eye. This way he protected both his rinnegan powers but both his Sharingan were gone due to using Izagani. That was the cost…
It was a desperate attempt and a last-minute push, but he didn't regret it. Becuase he still had his Rinnegan and now he could do this…
"Come out…" He said and soon his shadow shifted. And from his shadow came out a giant figure.
Towering over him, he saw Mahoraga glaring at him but not attacking. A smile crept onto his face.
"Fist Bump…" Shika slowly pushed his fist forward towards him and Mahoraga also put up his fist, meeting Shika's fist.
'I just catch a Mahoraga…' Shika had a megawatt smile on his face and wanted to shout this, Pokémon style.
However, right now wasn't the time, he had to see what happened with with both Suigetsu and Haku.
So he quickly summoned Nue and went up to the skies.
And that was when his eyes widened like saucers. Becuase what he saw completely shocked him.
"Where the hell am I ?"…
