Chapter 11 - His soft side.

Luciano literally ran into the hospital. He took fast strides Amelia's room.

Just a few minutes ago, he got a call from the hospital and it was Amelia that wanted to talk to him, she wasn't scared if him anymore.

Getting to the VIP ward he stopped dead in his tracks watching her face brighten up the room.

Whatever that happened to make her heal so fast, has his gratitude.

'' Luciano " he heard his name been called by her soft voice. Oh, how he missed her voice.

He didn't know when he entered the room and engulfed her in a tight hug.

"Take it easy, son, she is still recovering." Amelia's mom tease and Luciano quickly disengaged from the hug, realizing what he had just done.

Luciano glanced at her and his brows furred, not in annoyance but in self awareness.

Ever since Amelia came into his life, he was becoming more and more different, like he was losing himself.

He didn't like it one bit. He liked when he was ruthless and uncaring, but with her everything was always different. He always crossed the boundaries for himself.

"Excuse me" he said in a bid to gather his thoughts. Amelia on the other hand, thought he was embarrassed by her mother calling him out.

"Mom, you made everything awkward" she whined her mother who in turn gave her a knowing look.

"What is up with that look in your eyes, please don't have any funny ideas" She added after seeing the look in her mother's eyes.

"So, how was your honeymoon " her mom asked wiggling her brows playfully earning a groan from Amelia who hid behind a pillow.

"You can't hide forever " she added in a singsong tone.

"Mommmmm'' Amelia screams in the pillow but not strong enough to avoid tearing up her wounds.

Luciano walked aimlessly around the hospital until he found himself at the rooftop of the hospital.

He felt the breeze blow through him along side a bad memory he had tried so hard to forget but couldn't. It was his reminder, the reason he wanted revenge.

FLASHBACK TO 13 YEARS AGO

"How could you trust him so much, to the point of leaving your hard earned company to his name." A young woman said , tears of sorrow running down her face.

"Leah, he was like my brother, we built it together" the man replied. He was Luciano's father, Martin. Luciano and his little sister, Lucia, watched as their parents went on and on about their company going bankrupt.

He didn't know how it happened but one day they were thrown out of their home. His father unable to bear the burnt of betrayal, died of heartache and his mother didn't last a year after his father died.

He and his sister were left all alone in the world.

"The weather is really nice, right." Luciano turned to see Amelia in a wheelchair. How did she get up here by herself.

"What are you doing up here by yourself" he found himself asking, he didn't reply her earlier statement. Her smile faltered but she wheeled closer to him.

"I am sorry, I am so sorry. I shouldn't have treated you like I did when I became conscious, I know you wouldn't hurt me" she said instead avoiding the previous question.

Luciano looked at her like she was the most fragile thing on the planet earth.

"I am sorry, please don't hate me" Amelia said again, this time, her voice cracked with each word.

"I shouldn't have sent you away, I sho....sho... should have..... known.. better." She added and Luciano unable to bear her crying, crouched down to the level of the wheelchair and stroked her hair foldly just like he does for his sister whenever she was sad. Thinking of her got him sad but he didn't show it.

"I don't hate you, infact I will never hate you" he said in the calmest voice. Amelia's sob had blown out into a full cry by now. She cried on his shoulder while he rubbing her back in a soothing manner.

"Thank.. you..so much" she replied in between hiccups.

"It is okay" he replied, still reeling in the fact that he stroked her hair.

A few days later, Amelia was discharged.

Luciano was by her side 247. He always claimed that it was part of the contract and when it didn't sound convincing enough, he would blame himself for her accident.

Somehow, the media got a whiff of the incident. They were flooding Luciano's company to question him but he was never around and they dare not step on his estate for fear of disappearing off the face of the earth.

Luciano had once done that. A report desperate for a news worthy article, snuck into his mansion and was never heard from again.

The others learnt from that one mistake and still told the new reporters about it in silent whispers.

Since then, they knew when to draw the line avoided his personal space.

They could only helplessly wait for news from him directly or they will get nothing, that much they understood.

"Who would have thought that you could cook" Amelia taunted but got no response. Today marks the sixth day since she was discharged had recovered pretty well. She could walk by herself and her wounds were healing too.

"Luc" she called out softly and his shoulder visibly tensed but he soon regained his composure.

"Luc, look at me" she said and this time he turned and was awed by what he saw.

Amelia was dressed in a nice blue dress that complimented her shape, she curled her hair and had light makeup on, giving the look and overall natural look.

Luciano was awestruck for a minute.

"How do I look" she smiled, swirling a little bit, to give him an overview of the dress, unknown to her, he swallowed, his Adam apple bumping up and down.

"Words are not enough to describe what I am seeing right now" he replied in breathy tone and she felt a blush crawling up her face.

She could get used to this soft side of his.
