Chapter 327 - Chapter 327: Persephone: "Husband, what will the future of the Underworld be like?" (Bonus Chapter)

"..."

Prometheus silently stared at Zeus, unable to comprehend how someone like him, a great Emperor of the Heavens and one of the three God-Kings, could say something so absurd.

Zeus, looking at the silent Prometheus, didn't rush him for a response.

After a moment.

Prometheus suppressed the overwhelming disbelief and composed himself before speaking softly: "Your Majesty! It cannot be done. The Queen of the Underworld holds too special a status, especially now that the mortal world is still under the control of the Underworld. At this moment, it's absolutely impossible to act."

Zeus nodded slightly, understanding that he had only been venting. He wasn't foolish or insane enough to believe such actions were feasible. It was completely unrealistic.

Hearing Zeus' words, Prometheus once again lowered his head respectfully and seriously advised: "Your Majesty, the Heavens must endure for now. Impatience will only ruin the greater plan. You must remain steady; otherwise, real trouble will emerge. Once we pass this phase, everything will truly belong to us."

Prometheus was genuinely pleading. "Please, Your Majesty, calm down! If you could just act rationally for a moment, I promise everything will eventually fall into place, and you'll ascend peacefully." He felt helpless; why did his master always seem to want to make such reckless moves? It was maddening.

One could only say:

The current state of the Heavens was just too chaotic, beyond anyone's wildest imagination.

Actually!

It wasn't all that strange. In the original mythological timeline, Zeus was the true third-generation God-King, a supreme being. Despite only officially ruling the Heavens, in essence, he was the ultimate authority of that generation. And within that dynamic, internal turmoil within the Heavens was inevitable.

But the situation now was completely different. This era was one of co-rule by the three God-Kings, and crucially, the Heavens were the weakest of the realms. This immense power disparity was an undeniable fact.

There was no need to elaborate further; it was obvious that the overall strength of the Heavens simply wasn't on par with the other realms. As a result, the current situation had arisen.

Zeus' personality hadn't changed, but the power dynamics had shifted. This naturally led to the present circumstances.

It was unavoidable—when power shifts but personalities don't, it inevitably brings trouble. And the resulting turmoil was something everyone found difficult to endure.

For now, the situation in the Heavens had calmed down.

At the same time!

While the Heavens had settled, so too had the mortal realm. After all, the Holy War had ended, and now the first-generation ruler of the world was Hades, the King of the Underworld. With this new order established, everything returned to a state of peace.

As for when the next apocalypse would begin?

Well!

That wasn't a pressing concern. To the gods, it didn't matter when the apocalypse started. Or more accurately, it wasn't something to worry about in the short term.

To put it bluntly, this wasn't something that required immediate attention. They could deal with it slowly over time. Besides, the matter of the apocalypse was the responsibility of the Underworld, and it had nothing to do with them.

The Underworld.

The Elysian Fields.

Hades and Persephone sat side by side on their thrones, quietly conversing.

"Husband!" Persephone lounged lazily on the large throne, as if reclining on a chaise. In a relaxed tone, she asked, "When will the Underworld begin the apocalypse?"

Hades calmly replied, "There's no need to rush. We simply wait until everything is prepared. After all, this is nearly the only chance for the Underworld. If we fail, the next creation will be impossible."

Hades understood this very clearly.

Destruction, creation, destruction, creation.

Each cycle required a Holy War to be completed. Even though the Underworld had consistently triumphed in the Holy Wars, it ultimately didn't matter.

If they failed the first time, Poseidon and Zeus would stop at nothing to prevent the Underworld from succeeding. They would go to any lengths to obstruct it.

And by then, achieving success would become extremely difficult, if not outright impossible.

For this reason!

At this critical moment, caution and seriousness were imperative. Failing now would mean losing the only chance, rendering everything meaningless.

This was the first and likely the only chance.

Only by seizing this opportunity could the Underworld gain its greatest rise.

"I understand," Persephone replied lazily, nodding gently. In a soft voice, she continued, "But husband, what do you think the future of the Underworld will be like?"

Persephone's question left Hades momentarily silent.

The reason was simple.

No one had ever asked him such a question before. No one had ever had the right to inquire about his thoughts on the future. Persephone was the first to ask.

After a brief pause, Hades responded calmly, "The future of the Underworld doesn't lie solely within this mythological world. We will venture beyond—to a beautiful yet endlessly dangerous ocean."

The Sea of Chaos!

Hades had truly traversed the Sea of Chaos. For this reason, he knew better than anyone what kind of wonders awaited in that place.

It was a realm where danger and opportunity coexisted. There, one could grow infinitely stronger, or be devoured in an instant.
