"What could anger you more than killing old Hagelberry? Besides, if I die, everyone would just shout long live the King." His Majesty Manheim said with a cold smile, glancing at old Hagelberry: "If it weren't for Thomas this time, you'd be dead, old Hagelberry."

"Yes, without him, it would have been me, Your Majesty. Did you know, in the end, I owed my old friend a life." Old Hagelberry said, leaning against the bottom of the carriage, taking a cigarette case from Malin's hand and lighting one for himself.

After a while, news came from Malin's side that the guards hadn't found the murderer, as if he had vanished. Only footprints above the dust on the bell tower and some wiped away dust proved someone had been on the top of the tower.

After considering, Malin and Manheim still didn't call off the guards, just in case the murderer had moved to another shooting position, now waiting for them to relax their vigilance.
