Back in their hotel room, the warm golden light from the window softened the tension
They were all gathered in the small living area, sitting cross-legged on cushions and low sofas. A teapot gently steamed on the table. Julian sat wrapped in a soft blanket Ruby had given him, still pale, but calmer now.
Karl wasn't taking it well.
"I seriously don't understand!" he growled, flopping back onto the couch and pointing an accusing finger at Ruby. "Why did he try to frame Jule?! We don't even know him! Just because he liked you at first sight, he thinks it's okay to pull a whole drama show and ruin Jule's life?!"
Ruby blinked.
"…Why are you glaring at me?"
Karl crossed his arms. "Because you're the reason everyone keeps falling in love and going crazy!"
Ruby stared. "That is not my fault."
Karl pointed harder. "It's your face."
Ruby sighed and picked up her tea.
Julian let out a small, tired chuckle and somehow, that little sound made the everyone feel lighter.
