---{[---{[Support]}---]}---

Seeing the moveset a wave of relief hits me.

Thank Arceus it didn't know how type match ups or what moves are better.

The guy didn't have its secret ability but that's already asking too much. No need to complain about a free starter Pokemon which seems to be very determined.

An upside without the secret ability is [Toxic] and [Curse]. First of all, speed and attack speed aren't the same. So using [Curse] literally changes nothing for a still relatively slower Pokemon which acts like a crux.

Unlike attack speed which is trainable by mastering moves. [Toxic] also gives the opportunity for poison stall which would be extremely evil.

Finishing my food, I head towards the training grounds just a few minutes away.

It was time to introduce myself.

Taking all three Pokeballs out, I release them.

*Phsszst*

"Marshtomp!"

"Key key!"

"Saur?"

The three Pokemon having been released all looked around. But Ivysaur was the most confused as it looked at its way different surroundings.

Sitting on a bench, we were at a public training ground that was quite empty. It was still early in the morning, and the place looked very desolate. Honestly, it was a peak training opportunity but now isn't the time.

"Hey Ivysaur, my name is Sunny and am your new trainer." I softly say, my hands reaching closer.

Ivysaur who heard this felt a strangely close connection to me so he didn't reject it.

It was because of the Friend Ball.

Slowly getting closer, I rub the top of his head. It was right behind the ear which was one of the favourite spots of other trainer's Ivysaurs. Of course, I've researched these types of things for all my future members.

"Saur... (That's nice...)"

"Say hello to your new friends, Marshtomp and Mankey." The two of them looking at the new catch had very different reactions.

Mankey quickly getting in front of him, started to point at itself and shadow box. "Key mankey! (I'm the strongest!)"

Marshtomp who heard this just squinted its eyes.

"Marsh! tomp tomp... (Hello! Ignore this idiot...)" With a little wave, they soon got accustomed to each other. Ivysaur who saw the Pokemon who defeated it had stars in its eyes as it lost so handily, nobody ever tanked his hit like that besides Venusaur.

The pig monkey inching closer, touched the bulb of Ivysaur out of curiosity, this surprised the Pokemon as it let out a powder.

'Oh shit.' I thought seeing this.

*Thud*

Thankfully a few seconds later the guy went to sleep. It was only a [Sleep Powder]

"Marsh tomp... (Deserved...)" Marshtomp says amused.

Not too long after the three of us were already laughing and they converse with each other which put a warm smile on my face.

This was a better situation than I thought.

Fights between Pokemon in the anime were quite common for Ash and his partners.

While I can't say that I'll never have it, it's not likely.

Ash never set a leader for his team or disciplined his squad which created problems. With Marshtomp beating all the Pokemon into shape they won't randomly create a fuss as he listens to my every word.

So if he trains, they will follow suit.

"Ivy... (Friends)." The seed Pokemon murmurs.

After Mankey woke up, he quickly apologised which was quickly forgiven.

"Alright guys, Ivysaur needs to eat. I'll send you guys out later but be prepared in case we battle." I announce which got Mankey hyped up.

Marshtomp seeing Ivysaur who looked confused, quickly explained what their goals were. Training to get strong and win battles.

The seed Pokemon nodding at these words felt excited.

New friends and he got to train with free food?

Sign him up!

Taking Mankey's Pokeball, I send him back and put him on my belt. Putting my bag on the floor, my hands grab a pack of extra Pokeblocks and a bowl. Setting it on the floor a notification could be heard coming from my phone.

[Tyson: Sunny you were right!]

[Tyson: Cougars are trying to get me...]

"Hahah!" I laugh which startled the Ivysaur.

At least he seemed to be enjoying his food with his wide smile.

Quickly apologising, I used this as an excuse to pat the seed Pokemon even more. Opening up my messages, my words of wisdom were quickly sent as he really needed my advice.

[Sunny: If you are going to marry a cougar, make sure they're at least loaded - Me]

Putting my phone away, my instincts open up Poketub for no reason. It was the equivalent to Youtube of my world but it was still in the early stages of popularity. TV was still prevalent here and most content creators weren't really earning much money.

But it was an opportunity.

Letting Ivysaur finish his food, he was sent back into the Pokeball. Marshtomp and I started walking to the mall to buy some equipment. Because my journey as an influencer doesn't seem too bad considering my experience already.

Clickbait...

Challenges and editing were all things I was able to do.

Taking my time today, the rest of the day was sort of similar to a week ago. Buying things such as a POV camera, main camera, microphone and even a new phone.

It felt more like a dream.

I faintly smile to myself, still giddy about the title idea in my mind. "Beating the League With One Pokemon." It wasn't a bad start for now. Maybe not the best title idea but if all things go bad, Ivysaur can be used.

Clickbaiting a golden Ivysaur...

Feeling the sleek new design on my new phone, I spent the rest of the time watching Poketube videos of battles between high-level trainers. Marshtomp was also next to me watching with a very focused look.

Unfortunately, there was no point in staying any longer.

'I want to catch another Pokemon, but it would be too strong for my team.' I thought a little bit down. Being realistic I stood no chance against the monster even with my full team, on top of them using self-buff moves.

On top of this.

After realising Celadon Gym would be too busy due to its popularity and the start of the Indigo League.

It was just better to head to the Sinnoh region now rather than later. I've already said my goodbyes to my parents anyway.

I caught the train to Saffron with plenty of time to spare. The train was pretty packed being the middle of the day. Thankfully I found a window seat, my backpack resting at my feet, and I leaned back, closing my eyes for a moment as the rhythmic clatter of the train tracks eased my mind.

Marshtomp who was next to me, kept on watching some video footage of Dome Ace Tucker.

He was one of the frontier brains and he had a Swampert and Arcnanine which were honestly great picks.

The guy has my respect.

My thoughts shifted back to Sinnoh.

I couldn't help but feel a bit excited about the flight ahead. The Sinnoh Region had so much to do, especially with my meta knowledge, there were opportunities to claim!

The time passed quickly as the train hummed its way across the countryside. On the way there it was quite lax. So I took the time to set up my channel which would be how people perceive me from now on.

'Sunny Haruto.' I thought while typing it out.

Basic full name, no need to overthink it. Couldn't imagine someone going up to me and calling me ShadowEMPEROR or something... The profile is a bit more personal but the banner can be done later.

Scrolling through old photos I imported from my old one, there was a picture of myself smiling with Mudkip in my embrace.

'This one is pretty nice.'

*Ding!*

---{[Tyson Messages]}---

[Me: What do you think of my Poketube title?]

[Tyson: It's really good! I'd watch it over my usual food video. Just make sure to win and not embarrass yourself though!]

[Tyson: Give me the channel name and I'll subscribe now.]

[Me: It's Sunny Haruto btw]

[Tyson: Done

[Tyson: If you're gonna pull off only using one Pokemon. Sinnoh might be the one do to it!]

[Tyson: Using Marshtomp might be the play seeing that the Gardenia is one of the weaker leaders.]

[Me: Thanks for the opinion, I'll leave you to your girls]

[Me: Good luck with all the thirsty girls hehe]

[Tyson: ...]

[Tyson: You're not escaping my Metagross the next time we meet...]

[Me: HAHA]

---{[Tyson Messages]}---

Tyson was one of the buddies I talked to more online rather than in real life. With the limited amount of time we spoke at the Ever Grande Conference, we chatted a lot about Pokemon battling and food.

His Pokemon smarts were actually pretty decent.

That guy really needed an escape becoming one of the most wanted bachelors of Hoenn.

Plus getting the opinion of a friend was useful in general.

'That guy would definitely ignore my video if there were another with crepes.' I thought amused.

---{[Brock Messages]}---

[Me: Hey Brock how is that truck girl treating you?]

[Brock: Not good...]

[Brock: SHE HAD A BOYFRIEND SUNNY]

[Me: Oof that's rough]

[Me: Just because there's a goalie doesn't mean you can't score fr]

[Brock: Man stop that I ain't a bastard haha]

[Brock: Also Ash told me to tell you hi!]

[Me: Tell him my flight is today, I'm looking forward to battling him as soon as possible!]

[Brock: SUNNY WE HAVE TO BATTLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!]

---{[Brock Messages]}---

'Did Ash steal the phone.' I chuckle to myself seeing the recent message.

At least he seemed excited for our next meeting.

Putting my phone down, I spent the rest of the time just cuddling with Marshtomp.

By the time we neared Saffron City, the sun was starting to dip below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the landscape. The city lights were just starting to twinkle as I took my bag and stepped off the train.

Seeing the familiar skyscrapers of Silph Co my mind clears.

It was a small trip, this time I won't be back for a while.

After a quick stop to eat and change to a fresh pair of clothes, I made my way to the airport. The flight to Sinnoh was scheduled in several hours, and there was still some final preparation to do.

By training.

Each airport had some battlegrounds trainers could battle. It's where I had my first battle when I first got Mudkip.

It's very random who I battle but either way, it will be different. This isn't the middle of the league conference or towards the end, multiple hungry trainers who are desperate to win are going to be my opponents now.

'Let's do this...'

...

[3rd Person's POV (Location: Route 201, Sinnoh)]

"Ash you can't just take my phone like that!" Brock berates the kid as he quickly pulls his phone away. "That's where my secret notes are..."

Ash who couldn't hear the latter just pouted but soon after smirked.

"I can't believe Sunny is coming to Sinnoh as well! I must find Pikachu and get to battling or else we might lose..." He says, his tone quieting towards the end.

Yes, his Pikachu was missing and Ash's mood was at rock bottom.

But with Sunny's messages, he's gotten his spark again which gave Brock a helpless look. That Pikachu was important to him as well, they would do everything they could to retrieve the little guy from Team Rocket.

For now, they were stuck walking through this route.

...

[3rd Person's POV (Location: Twinleaf Town)]

The morning sun cast a warm light over the peaceful town. It was where neat houses sat between a wide flat grassy field showing their lush environment. Outside one of these homes was the voice of a mother and daughter.

Inside Dawn stood in the middle of the living room, wrestling with a huge overstuffed dress. While her mother, Johanna watched with a mix of disbelief, patience and exasperation.

"If you keep messing around like this, you won't have any time to catch Pokemon" She lightly teases with her hand on her cheek.

This made Dawn pout for a second before flashing a wide grin.

Today was a great day, nothing could ruin it!

"Alright, alright, sorry Mom!" Dawn laughed.

After a while, Johanna went outside to enjoy the morning breeze. Only to see her daughter dragging a massive pink suitcase out from the front door, practically struggling to move it anywhere.

Johanna looking at the size of Dawn's bike just sighed.

"Do you know what your journey is for?" She asks squinting her eyes at her daughter.

Instantly Dawn replied with an innocent face. "It's to become a Pokemon trainer, right?"

Johanna dragging her back inside gives her a small bag. And soon after a ribbon which made Dawn pause. It looked familiar and her mother always carried it around.

"This was my first ever championship contest ribbon. I want you to have it. It's like a good luck charm" She softly says cupping her hands around Dawn's. The daughter now stunned looked at her mum with a surprised Pikachu face.

But she soon after gave her mum a big hug.

"I'll treasure it forever." She giggles with a cheeky smirk. "No need to worry!"

The mother hearing this got a nostalgic smile. Waving goodbye to each other, Dawn now had a journey to go on.

"But those words are what make me worry," Johanna whispers to herself.

-------------------------------------------

[A/N: Is the pacing too slow or fast? I'm honestly not sure how long to spend on something. Like it feels like I might be going back and forth a little much.

At the same time I also want to write a lot but don't want to just make useless filler that's skippable...]
