Chapter 186 - I'm not interfering, I'm communicating

Her hands shook slightly as she grabbed Snowball and scooped him into her arms, carrying him towards her bedroom door.

It took a little bit of shuffling to open her bedroom door and step through, but she managed to accomplish it without dropping the baby cat she clutched to her chest.

Snowball seemed to sense her unease, and rather than wiggle and try to go exploring, he cuddled up to her and purred.

She nuzzled the kitten and slowly made her way out of the imperial wing, heading straight for the training grounds. Lyov often spent time there helping to train the knights even though he no longer technically counted as one.

The walk from her bedchamber to the practice field took a relatively short period of time.

Her shoes clicked across the cobbles as she strode purposefully to the entrance of the large, stone courtyard. Several men and women, wearing armor and wielding various weapons, practiced sparring with each other while others focused on solo drills.
