Chapter 16 - chapter 15 - the first sato

Chapter 15: The First Sato

Nine hundred years ago —One hundred years before the rise of Zeref, the first Protector —the world was already bleeding under the birth of chaos.

Demons, born from the fragments of Hades' cursed soul, began to claw their way into the human realm. They sought the divine keys, the very locks that sealed Hades away.Sensing the end was near, the gods, battered and broken after the ancient war, finally set their long-conceived plan into motion:

They would gift mortals their sacred powers.

And so, the story of the first Sato began.

Blaze Sato was a boy of simple beginnings.Unlike the famed names that would come after him, the Sato family was then an ordinary lineage — mere villagers living by the sea.

Blaze was beloved by all.A boy of honest laughter, of kind deeds — he often helped the elderly gather firewood, mended broken roofs, and fished to feed his people.

It was on one such day, casting his nets beneath the burning sun, that fate revealed itself.Floating amidst the waves was a girl — unconscious, pale as the moon, and breathtakingly beautiful.

Her skin shimmered faintly under the sun like silvered water. Her hair, a cascade of midnight blue, floated around her like a halo. Her features were ethereal: delicate, haunting, as if carved by a sorrowful god.

Blaze, struck by her otherworldly beauty, pulled her from the sea and carried her to his family's humble shed. For three long days, she slept. Blaze never left her side.

When she awoke, the first sight she beheld was Blaze's anxious, smiling face.

"Who are you?" he asked, eyes wide with wonder."I... I don't remember," she whispered, her voice soft as falling snow.

She told them only broken pieces:Running. Flames. Spears. Angry villagers screaming "witch!" as she collapsed, speaking strange tongues beyond mortal understanding.

Blaze, moved by a fire deep in his heart, vowed then and there to protect her.He gave her a new name — Amara — meaning "eternal one."

Years passed.

Amara and Blaze grew inseparable.Together, they walked beneath the stars, trading dreams and laughter. They sat by the river, Blaze teaching her to fish while she taught him ancient songs she could not remember learning.Their bond blossomed into something deeper, wilder — a love untouched by fear or doubt.

But fate, ever cruel, did not forget.

One day, as Amara carried a basket of fruits through the village square, she collapsed —her body convulsing, her lips spilling ancient, forbidden words.

Blaze caught her in his arms, crying her name. When she awoke, her memories had returned.

Amara was not merely a lost girl —She was Helia, daughter of Hecate, goddess of magic.A demi-god, born of divine sorrow and mortal hope.

She revealed everything:After the War with Hades, Hecate, weary of godly cruelty, fell in love with a human and bore Helia. But the gods, disgusted, exiled Hecate and slew her mortal lover.Helia alone survived, hidden by her mother's spells.

The vision that had drawn her to Blaze was no accident. This village was chosen. This boy was chosen — by the great Titan Chronus himself.

Blaze Sato would be the first mortal to inherit Chronus' sacred gift:Dominion over Time.

But destiny is never gentle.

Not long after this revelation, a demon descended upon the village. It rampaged through the streets, slaughtering innocents with a glee that made the heavens weep.

Helia fought to protect them, but the demon overpowered her, leaving her battered and broken.

Blaze, seeing Helia fall, felt something inside him shatter. He screamed, and time itself answered.

The air cracked and froze. The sea stilled mid-wave.The blood dripping from wounded villagers reversed itself, wounds sealing as if untouched.

Time obeyed him.

And in that moment, Blaze Sato awakened the full might of Chronus' gift.

With a single gesture, he crushed the demon, turning its body to dust across the sands.

As he stood amidst the stunned villagers, a light engulfed him.Blaze's soul was pulled to a higher plane —the Realm of the Gods.

There, where the stars hung motionless in a sky of endless gold, Blaze met Chronus.

The Titan's voice was like a thousand rivers flowing backward.

"You have been chosen," Chronus said. "Not because of your strength... but because of your heart."

Chronus told Blaze of the war, of the sealing of Hades, of the need for mortal champions.Blaze Sato became the second Protector — a warrior of time, a guardian of humanity.

When he returned, the village hailed him as a hero.Blaze renamed it Fortress Palace, vowing it would be a sanctuary for all.

But Helia, wise beyond her years, knew even time was not enough.

In secret, she searched through the forbidden tomes left behind by her mother.Within them, she found two spells.

The first was the Sphere Eyes —a blessing allowing its wielder a random magical gift, and the ability to peer five seconds into the future.

Helia cast the spell upon the entire village, empowering them to defend themselves.

Blaze now wielded both Time and Sphere Eyes, becoming a legend.

Yet Helia's heart whispered of greater dangers still to come. And so, she dared to seek out the second spell — the True Sphere Eyes.

This spell required centuries of stored magic.Knowing she herself lacked eternal life, Helia founded a hidden order of witches and magicians —a lineage that would store magical energy, generation after generation.

It would take hundreds of years. But Helia enchanted the spell so that these divine eyes would only awaken in a Sato worthy of wielding time itself —one pure of heart, one destined to surpass all protectors before him.

And at last — centuries later —a child was born.

Kenshin Sato.

Born with the True Sphere Eyes glowing within him, a power so great that even the slumbering gods stirred in terror.

The boy who would shatter the chains of fate itself.
