Chapter 40 - Comfort

Waiting is something that many people dislike. The anxiety in it makes many people impatient. It wasn't impatience that Aito felt, even though he was anxious.

The sun outside the window had begun to set. He was accompanied by a nurse giving him breakfast and lunch, but there was still no sign of a visit from the person he was waiting for.

His gaze fell on the sofa beside him, every time he woke up at night. The first thing he saw was the rise and fall of the man's chest as he slept. Looking undisturbed, without his sharp gaze and flat expression, his appearance when sleeping was very different.

His eyebrows seemed to relax, his firm jaw looked softer, overall peaceful and easy to approach. Aito could watch that for a long time before he realized he had fallen back asleep just like that.
