Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 : Get back!

Ten years later, he distributed his statistics, adding 5 points in intelligence and 5 points in agility.

The last time he tried to manipulate his branches, it was disastrous. It wasn't a big change, but it was better than last time. It's like changing tentacles to move noodles with a wand.

Before him was a nearly finished book.

Looking at the content quickly, turning pages, he rarely showed a proud smile.

Want to know the content?

It was simply one of his favourite novels from his old life! he meant. A character who is not arrogant and powerful, but who manages to have an important position in his adventure! It's attractive, isn't it?

This changes a lot from the usual old-fashioned novels with powerful main characters from the beginning. Those who launch explosions!

It's a shame especially if the story is interesting.

In levels 1 to 100, it was the same shit attack. There is no real progression, no fun, even if the story is good. It doesn't make you want to read anymore.

He hated it with all his soul.

Boom! Boom!

Deus clapped his tongue in silence. He put his book on the shelves and put it away. Again those puny-eared bastards?

Since the last time he scared them, they kept sending armed teams to him.

They started to hit him, but it only left a small mark. Fortunately, he was strong enough for a tree. According to the elves, a single blow would have knocked down an ordinary tree.

Confirming once again that he was exceptional.

He quickly spread out his tentacles- branches, then turn for a few minutes to the troublemakers of sorts that these idiots turn back.

But their conversation distracted him, slowing his movements.

Now, its branches were turning in the void.

"Seriously, what the fuck is this monster?"

"I don't know. I don't want to know."

"How can you kill a monster of this caliber? It would take knights trained to cause damage at least!"

The old elf clapped his tongue.

"Pull out the magic weapon immediately!"

"Yes!" They all backed away and three people came out of the back. Elderly men in robe. They seem to have set up a camp behind the lines. No wonder they are so much like cockroaches.

They took out their respective sticks. Now that he met enemy magicians, it no longer surprised him and remained there to wait.

In the words of their captain, they must have prepared something impressive. He was a little curious. "Prepare your magic!"

"Return to your lands! Let the spirits rise up and invoke their wrath!"

"Let the tree of the world of skies and seas be manifested! Whirling in the sky, it appears like arrows! God be angry!"

"Combined magic! Elemental magic missiles!"

It's impressive. It looks like fireworks at festivals.

However, Deus began to form a disc above him, blocking the magic missiles. Some entered and destroyed branches, but he did not even pay a single attention to it, focusing only on the magician behind him who was whispering strange words.

 "Magic balls!"

Unlike magic missiles that looked like printed mana shells, the magic balls were massive, about the size of a medium tree. It was headed for him.

If he took it on the forehead... He would lose a part of his body. He didn't want to lose his life because of an oversized ego and started intercepting all the magic missiles and throwing branches on them.

It's not enough... Deus started frowning. No matter the damage, the magic balls were unstoppable.

These cunning sorcerers.

Deus tried to destroy the magic balls, but with a screaming noise, the outer part of his trunk was torn from its main body.

The elves have strengthened their spells accordingly. Their morals up.

It was bad.

Very bad.

"This little shit… "

If only he had skills like these magicians instead of swinging fragile wooden branches.

Deus repressed his regrets inwardly and prepared to bring at least some magic with him to hell.

He hoped that the administrator would give him a simpler life afterwards.

Deus instead of just blocking the projectiles, planted his branches on the ground and slowly approached by digging underground. These elves were too concentrated towards him, he took advantage to tie the legs of the elves and make them fall.

"Holy shit! I'm gonna burn him to death!"

A young elf screamed.

The others reacted by erasing its dead branches.

It was over for him.

Huh. Time passed quickly. He had not even enjoyed his new life. Locked in a confined space. He would have thought it would be more fun.

"Well done! Keep it up, hah?!"

Suddenly, arrows from nowhere pierced the heads of elves. Arrows came from all directions.

Disoriented by the invisible threat, he took advantage to fight a last blow.

The elder at the center of the attack died.

Normally, he would have defended but his attention was focused elsewhere.

"Retreat! Retreat!"

The elves got scared and fled.

Deus could breathe with relief

He survived another day.

"Is this the tree you told us about?" An old woman came out of a bush, checking that the elves had run away and looked at him curiously.

"It's him! The friendly monster!" She gently clenched towards him and stretched out her hand. His skin was soft despite the roughness of his worn fingers.

"Attention! What if he really was a monster?!" A man shouted looking at the blonde woman.

"Stop saying that. He's a smart monster..." She began to caress his body like a landlord who did it to her pet. It was strangely satisfying...

Take it back, Deus!

He had to maintain dignity.

"Is he talking?"

"A talking monster? Are you still asleep?"

"I mean. He would have attacked us already, but he became silent. A monster tree is already surprising. But if it could communicate?"

Everyone fell silent.

Then they started a heated debate. He retired and found books lying on the ground in the grass.

Some people walked right over them, through the books as if they didn't even exist.

Was he the only one who could see them?

Deus thought to retrieve the books and they fell into his hands. In the library, three books were placed on the table. He started opening some pages.

He had to be careful.

It was the first time he had seen books from reality appear in his personal space.
