Chapter 172 - Chapter 172: Veil of Illusions, Echoes of Eternity

After Yu Tian picked up The Dragon Vein Archer, everyone marched toward the end of Quick Arrow Zone, where they could see a majestic city in the distance.

Although the golden dragon statues never stopped firing arrows at them, the attacks had no effect, and they soon crossed Quick Arrow Zone without any trouble or drama.

Quick Arrow Zone was extremely long, taking nearly two hours to traverse. During this time, Yu Tian wasn't walking idly—he had immersed himself deep within his soul, recalling memories as a Li Mo.

Though two hours weren't enough to restore memories spanning over 100 billion years, he managed to recover fragments from a few million years, gaining slight clarity about his situation in Apotheosis World.

"Is my destiny to be among the strongest… only to be doomed to annihilation?" Yu Tian murmured. It seemed he had a tendency to incarnate as overpowered figures, like when he became the Nirvana Devil Emperor. Now, it appeared he had once incarnated in Apotheosis World as Chi You's son.

Chi You was the First Leader of the Saint Race, and Yu Tian—then named Li Mo—was his eldest son, born with a mutated bloodline surpassing even his father's.

This bloodline was none other than the Celestial Devourer Bloodline, an immensely powerful and enigmatic lineage that eclipsed even the Saint Bloodline, once considered the world's finest.

Thus, Yu Tian (then Li Mo) lived a life of luxury and glory—but it didn't last. The Saint Race was annihilated by his father's enemy, Emperor Shennong. At the time, the Saint Race stood no chance against Emperor Shennong and his endless followers. In the end, Chi You forged the God Domain, allowing his children and the surviving Saint Race members to flee Mother World.

Back then, Chi You had placed his faith in Li Mo and Li Luoshui, the twin hopes of the Saint Race. If the two united, it wouldn't be impossible for the Saint Race to return to Mother World with overwhelming power, crushing Emperor Shennong and his forces.

Unfortunately, Yu Tian stopped delving into his memories after escaping Mother World aboard the God Domain. They had now arrived before the majestic city, and it was time to press forward to slay the Evil Dragon.

"An illusion…" Yu Tian muttered, staring at the city stretching across the horizon. He easily discerned it was a facade.

"Correct. This majestic city is merely an illusion hiding the real one," said Nianyun, standing respectfully beside him. "Our destination lies beyond that dimensional gate."

"I see." Yu Tian nodded, then fixed his gaze on Nianyun. "How much do you remember of your past life?"

When Yu Tian was the Nirvana Devil Emperor, he had mastered the art of reincarnation, undergoing it countless times. With each cycle, his understanding deepened, eventually allowing him to guide others through reincarnation. Nianyun was one of the few who reincarnated with his aid.

"Not everything. I recall about 60% of those memories," Nianyun paused before continuing. "As for the rest, I should recover them easily once we reach God Domain."

In God Domain, every event—including the memories of its inhabitants—was stored. This allowed them to restore lost memories or even reincarnate by imprinting memories onto a newborn's soul.

[A/N: I don't recall where these "flames" (or their name) are found. If anyone knows, please inform me.]

Thus, Nianyun wasn't overly worried about her missing memories. She could reclaim them effortlessly upon reaching God Domain.

"Unfortunately, reaching God Domain seems impossible this time," Yu Tian said indifferently, stepping toward the void gate. With a touch of his hand, it activated. "Let's go."

Though Yu Tian was mildly curious about his memories in this world, he wasn't desperate to reclaim them. Restoring over 100 billion years of memories was no trivial task, and he felt no urgency—especially since this wasn't his only incarnation. Countless other reincarnations remained buried in oblivion.

"Finally, I can meet the Celestial Clan…" Yu Tian whispered as he stepped through the void gate. He had sensed the presence of the four Celestial Clan members long ago.

Though he hadn't shown it earlier, Yu Tian was intensely eager to see them. He might gain insight into his bloodline, as even the memories he'd recovered as Li Mo held no useful clues about the Celestial Devourer Bloodline.

"Celestial Clan…" Nianyun murmured the familiar name, following behind Yu Tian. Her memories contained extensive knowledge of the Celestial Clan—a clan she had founded with the help of Luo Xiao, the creator of this universe.

Luo Xiao was obsessed with the Saint Race, especially Li Mo, who was revered as a god among them. After Li Mo's death, Luo Xiao offered Nianyun a chance to reincarnate in his inner universe and establish the Celestial Clan using Li Mo's blood and her own. She had vehemently refused at first, unwilling to desecrate her Master's corpse, but eventually agreed under certain conditions.

Yu Tian and Nianyun weren't the only ones lost in thought—Yudie and Zhuqing were too. Yu Tian hadn't hidden the truth of this world from them, nor the fact that he had reincarnated countless times.
