Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 86 - Initiation Complete
Apollo looked around confused and chuckled to see many automatic turrets peeking out from the walls, facing his direction. He opened his arms, smirking ,"What a warm welcome." Before the instructor was able to turn them off they all fired high powered lasers in his direction. BOOM An explosion occurred just where he was standing, the instructor spoke ,"Nobody could survive Andrea's weaponry, damnit, I just got that guy killed!!!" The man he just now disliked, now made him feel sad. SWISH BAM He looked up and saw Apollo, not killed and perfectly fine, standing on one of the turrets. He laughed as he gripped the machine and crushed it in his hands ,"Too slow."
The guns turned in his direction as fast as they could, from their perspective he was right there, but that was, in all actuality, just an after image. These things could even read in hyper slow motion yet they couldn't keep up with him even still. He jumped from machine to machine breaking them one by one. Apollo then dashed to the middle of the room with everyone else, as the turrets blew up he said ,"Is that all?" The drill sergeant looked astonished ,"I guess I underestimated him, I'm not sure if I can even beat- (Wait, there is that)."
… Apollo looked around at the faces covered in looks of "What the fuck". He sensed a presence enter the room, it was the drill instructor himself. The man threw something at Apollo, it was some type of bracelet. ,"Put it on, it limits the powers you can use, I want to see how good you really are." Apollo thought (Is this guy serious?), nevertheless putting the bracelet on anyways. He felt his power being suppressed until none could escape from his body, of course, it wouldn't be hard for him to break it, but he wanted to see what would happen. The instructor did the same thing and smirked (Oh, this'll be easy) he thought.
The instructor smiled ,"My name is Kevin," ,"My name is Apollo, but you probably already knew that." Kevin layed out the ground rules ,"To win you must either knock your opponent unconscious or get a verbal submission, anything other than that is allowed." Apollo nodded ,"I can agree to that." They both nodded and sized each other up. Kevin started a countdown ,"3 2 1." Kevin dashed at Apollo, thinking this match would be easy but Apollo dodged with little difficulty. Every punch or kick he thought he'd land was avoided within a hair breadth. ,"You're ki and body are honestly kinda easy to read, remember to focus on not thinking as much."
Kevin was infuriated, this kid was giving him advice like he thought he knew everything. Apollo then stood in one spot and redirected every blow coming his way (How is this guy a drill sergeant?). Apollo sent blows that didn't connect to display the difference in technical prowess, Kevin looked in awe. There was nothing he could do, and it wasn't only like his opponent could read his mind, but he felt like Apollo was reading his existence itself.
A man entered the room ,"STOP!!!" Everyone looked over and saw a high ranking commander enter the room ,"We've seen enough here," ,"But sir," ,"ENOUGH." Apollo's eyes widened a little bit ,"Hello sir," ,"I can't believe you can act normal after embarrassing one of our officers that bad, but I also must apologize for his actions. My name is General John Herits and I think I have a much better proposition than just joining the intraplanetary military. I think you would do much better in our interplanetary sector instead. I'm sorry for having to put you through these unnecessary tests." Apollo looked down at Kevin ,"No problem at all," he bowed at the man ,"I will be happy to be of service." John was a gruff older man, his eyes saw through many things, and Apollo was no exception ,"Then come with me." Apollo followed the man as Kevin looked on in astonishment, Apollo was like some transcendental figure the moment they fought. Apollo flexed his forearm and broke the bracelet "Sealing" his power away. He looked back and smirked at Kevin before leaving the room. Kevin broke out into a sweat ,"Damn it."
Apollo followed John to a ship, he stepped in. John hopped in the driver's seat and looked back ,"You ready?" ,"Born ready," John then put on a devious smile and they zipped out of the Earth's orbit. Apollo looked out the window and witnessed the Earth below him, it was incredible. John said ,"Beautiful as always, our glorious planet," Apollo smiled. The ship flew closer and closer to a giant orbiting station. John landed the ship softly and turned it off ,"Follow me." This giant station, as huge as an entire country, was all owned by the interplanetary military. Apollo walked with the old man who exuded a fierce presence…
After a little bit they were in front of a door ,"These will be your comrades." Apollo saw about 5 people, among those people, was Cias. Apollo smiled ear to ear and yelled ,"WHAT'S UP MAN!!!" Cias smiled back ,"PRETTY GOOD, YOU?" ,"Not bad, not bad at all." They walked towards and dapped each other up. John looked at the boys and squinted, raising one of his eyebrows. John said ,"You guys done yet?" They replied ,""Yes sir!!!"" John rubbed his eyes and introduced the rest ,"This is Brandon, Reese, Katie, Cias whom you already seem to know and Andrea which is the creator of the turrets you broke. One of our other members, Noah Beckett, is training right now, he doesn't care much for introductions." Andrea's eyebrows seemed to stay in an eternal furrow as she looked in Apollo's direction ,"I can just make more of them, I don't care." She said, obviously annoyed. Apollo playing into it said ,"Yeah it was really fun destroying them, could you make some more?" She got up and quickly dashed towards him ,"I'd be glad to," she said with a face that read nothing but poorly suppressed anger. John silenced the room with his booming voice ,"SHUT IT AND SIT DOWN!!!" He lowered his voice then and said ,"Hooligans, all of you."
