Chapter 212 - Chapter 212 Patience is Power

"Money is a powerful tool. It speeds up the effectiveness of training," Tatsuya often said as he watched Sasuke practice, though he rarely seemed to take things as seriously as his disciple. Tatsuya would sit back in a rocking chair, sipping freshly brewed tea, looking every bit like a wise elder.

Once living in the Senju clan, Tatsuya had now returned to a small wooden house on the outskirts of Konoha. He often spoke of how this place held a special significance—the area was steeped in the aura of countless Shinobi trained here, including Tatsuya, Sakumo, Shisui, Mei, Rin, and Kurenai. The serene atmosphere of this sacred land was said to be particularly beneficial for ninjas.

As the days passed and the seasons shifted, Sasuke found himself immersed in a new kind of training. Tatsuya's lessons, though unconventional, were beginning to reveal their deeper purpose. Sasuke had learned long ago that a shinobi's strength was more than just in their fighting ability; it was in their discipline, focus, and control.

One morning, as the sun rose and cast its early light across the field, Sasuke adjusted the straw hat on his head, feeling the weight of the task ahead. Tatsuya stood nearby, arms crossed, watching him with a calm expression.

"Start with digging the hole for the seed, Sasuke," Tatsuya instructed, his voice steady.

Sasuke nodded, then bent down, his hands working the soil with careful precision. As he dug, the weight of each movement felt deliberate, his mind focused on the task at hand.

Tatsuya's voice cut through the silence. "Don't rush. Take your time. Every movement must have intention, Sasuke. It's not just about getting the job done, it's about doing it so your mind remains steady."

Sasuke took a breath, adjusting his posture as he went back to digging. His usual impulsiveness was buried under layers of focus. He could feel his muscles straining, but still kept a steady rhythm, reminding himself that this was part of his training.

Tatsuya watched silently for a few moments before speaking again. "You're learning, but there's still more. Watering is next."

Sasuke straightened up, wiping the sweat off his brow. His hands reached for the small watering can nearby. "How much chakra should I use this time?" Sasuke asked, lifting the can.

"Enough to control the flow of water," Tatsuya replied. "Just like with your Sharingan, chakra control is key. Don't use more than you need, or it'll overflow."

Sasuke took a deep breath, channeling his chakra through his fingertips as he held the can. His concentration was immense, his eyes narrowed in focus as the water flowed evenly from the spout, soaking the seed mounds with care.

"Good," Tatsuya said with approval. "Control, precision. You're starting to understand."

Sasuke didn't reply, but a small sense of accomplishment settled in him as he continued.

After several more hours of working in the fields, it was time for the next challenge—fishing.

Tatsuya guided Sasuke to a quiet, reflective stream, where the two would practice a method Tatsuya had long perfected. Sasuke looked at the rod in his hands, confused at first. "You're not going to show me how to cast the hook?" Sasuke asked, his tone laced with skepticism.

"No," Tatsuya answered simply. "You're going to guide the fish to the hook with your chakra."

Sasuke blinked, not entirely understanding. "How the hell do I do that?"

"You control your chakra, Sasuke," Tatsuya said, his voice calm and instructive. "Like with the watering can—except now you're using it to guide the fish instead of water."

Sasuke focused, extending his chakra into the rod, trying to make sense of the task. The stream flowed peacefully, but the quiet was deceptive. The pressure to control his chakra and ensure the fish bit the hook weighed heavily on him.

The first few attempts were a disaster. The chakra was too erratic, the line too slack, and no fish bit. Sasuke's frustration started to rise.

"This is pointless! Why can't I just fish the normal way?" Sasuke muttered under his breath, his hand tightening on the fishing rod.

Tatsuya, ever composed, walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Do you understand why it's important to learn this, Sasuke?"

Sasuke shot him an annoyed glance. "It's just fishing. Who cares?"

Tatsuya's expression remained steady. "It's not just about fishing. It's about learning patience and control. You're letting your frustration blind you. The Uchiha bloodline is powerful, but without control, that power is just a force of chaos. This is about learning to master your emotions. Your strength will mean nothing if you can't keep your composure."

Sasuke clenched his jaw, staring at the fishing rod in his hands. He had always been driven by anger—by the desire for revenge, the desire to prove himself. But Tatsuya was right. That wasn't enough. If he was going to move forward, he needed to change.

"I get it," Sasuke muttered, his voice laced with frustration. "I need to stay calm."

"Exactly," Tatsuya affirmed. "Now try again."

Sasuke took a deep breath, steadying himself. He focused on the rod, letting his chakra flow evenly through the line, imagining the fish swimming toward the hook, moving with precision. He took his time, every moment measured and deliberate.

Finally, after several moments of tense silence, Sasuke felt a pull on the line. His heart raced, but he didn't let the excitement take over. He calmly reeled in the catch, bringing a struggling fish to the surface.

Tatsuya nodded approvingly. "That's better. Patience, focus, control. You're learning."

Sasuke stood, holding the fish in his hand, his chest rising and falling with each breath. For a moment, he felt a small sense of accomplishment. It was just fishing, but the lessons had started to sink in. He knew he still had much to learn, but this was a start.

Later that day, as they prepared their simple meal, Tsunade arrived, her presence a welcome distraction from the tension of the day's training.

"You two look like you've been working hard," she remarked with a smirk as she unpacked bags of supplies. "No meat again, huh? You guys are sticking to this simple diet thing."

"Good enough for us," Tatsuya said with a small smile. "Sasuke's learning some new lessons."

Sasuke, though tired, allowed himself a rare smile. "Yeah… I'm starting to understand a few things."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What's that? Did you finally get Tatsuya to stop making you work so much?"

Sasuke chuckled quietly, shaking his head. "Not quite. But I'm learning… to be more patient."

Tsunade's eyes softened, and she placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's about time you learned that, Sasuke. You've got the potential, but only if you can control yourself."

Sasuke nodded, his resolve firming. "I'll get there."

As the evening sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the three of them, the bond between the unlikely trio—Tatsuya, Sasuke, and Tsunade—grew stronger. They had all come from different places, but in that moment, they shared something simple yet profound: the understanding that growth, whether it be in strength, patience, or character, took time, and the willingness to be patient was the first step in mastering it.
