Chapter 335 - Dominance

'I can understand why he called her dangerous.' Sekingar wiped the sweat from his brow while glancing at Grayfia.

She poured tea for Adam with a blank look. There wasn't hostility or anger in her being. Yet, he felt like his soul itself would freeze if he looked at her for longer than a second.

All in all, the Hero Association didn't have any alternate intentions. In a way, they were ready to give generous support to Adam in everything. Even extending the same treatment to his allies and partners.

"Still, I hope you don't forget that you are the one bringing them into it. I have recorded the conversation with you representing the Association. If you try to go back on your word I'll make sure every household in the country listens to it. Believe me, I have connections to make that happen." Fubuki placed the recorder she kept hidden till now. As for the connections to bring that threat true, she didn't have any.

Plain and simple, a bluff. But with Adam in her corner and his situation, it wouldn't look like one.

"That won't be an issue Fubuki-Sama, if you want Hero Association is willing to make an official announcement and contract if need be." Sekingar had prepared for it in advance.

"That's more like it." She leaned back into her chair and glanced at Adam with a smile.

'Isn't this a total jackpot? If it goes like this the Hero Association won't be able to get anything out of us.' Fubuki seemed to have realized that with the way Sekingar talked to her.

Even if they had come to see Adam, she sat next to him as his equal, and she got the deserved treatment. They heard her complaints and accommodated them.

It was then that Adam broke the long silence.

"Well, all that is good, but aren't you leaving something out?" Sekingar clenched his fists under the table.

Fubuki's confused eyes searched for what Adam hinted at yet she couldn't find anything. It wasn't until the Sekingar cleared his throat to gather his composure.

"What I am about to say is a personal opinion of mine. So, please take it as a throwaway." He seemed nervous but the cat was out of the bag anyway. "I think that Adam-sama shouldn't become a public figure like a Hero."

"Then how will you explain the origin of this product? You don't plan to let the Hero Association take credit for it, do you?" Fubuki's eyes took a dangerous turn. That was one thing she wouldn't allow, the recognition for their hard work wouldn't go to someone else!

"It is not about that, Fubuki." Adam's words made her reel in the aggression.

'I mean I know it can't be that… I was just trying to feel them out. Asserting some dominance is necessary.' Fubuki looked at the scrambling Shizuka. She seemed the most surprised among them. So, Sekingar hadn't lied, this was his personal opinion and had nothing to do with the Association.

"Healing and special buffs, these abilities are as rare as they get. And they had appeared on the same person. If it becomes public, it would form a big target on you." He said noticing the calm mood.

"I appreciate your concern Sekingar, but you don't have to worry about my safety. Even if I am attacked but outsiders or from within the association. It won't amount to much. But, the question is how long will the Association be that way?" Adam picked up his tea cup, and the two in front of him sweated.

Honestly, Adam had good connections, too good in a way. Three Class S Heroes stayed ready to help with his case, and another potential Class S stuck close to him. In a way, there wasn't anyone safer than him in the country. Not even the wealthiest person in the country had a Class S hero as a bodyguard 24/7. But, they didn't know that the real powerhouse was Adam himself.

"The Hero Association can even go and paint me as a villain if they wish. Simply vanishing and coming back under a different identity doesn't take much effort." The three at the table knew that he was speaking the truth.

Adam looked about in his mid-twenties but there was no information on him aside from remote transactions scattered over the years. He never appeared on any record, not even photo evidence or CCTV recordings. Like a ghost, he appeared one day. That was the case, and he used it to make himself look like he could do it again. And he can.

'He also said that the shop is under constant protection even when he isn't around. Could it be that he has a hidden team? But, no Class S heroes have talked about it yet. Could they be stronger or just that well hidden?!' Fubuki gulped looking at Grayfia. It wasn't improbable after all only two people wouldn't be able to handle it all. But, the thought there were more people like Grayfia gave her a headache.

Adam was in charge of production, Grayfia protected him, and Fubuki was the face of the organization, so someone had to work in the shadows. Yes, it made sense that way. Expect it wasn't true at all, aside from the first part.

"Well, it looks like I have made the atmosphere a bit too heavy for no reason." Adam laughed placing his teacup down. "I'll leave whether to include me into the hero rankings or not to you, how about it?"

"That decision is too big for me to make on my own, but I'll do my best to let your words reach the proper higher-ups." Sekingar said, ready to conclude the meeting. He already understood what Adam wanted.

'He doesn't want recognition or fame. It is plain that he wants to help, his methods are just different.' Sekingar thought.

"You aren't going to ask for some samples or stock to distribute for your heroes?" Adam asked making the flash a wry smile.

"We already knew it would get shot down, so decided not to bring the matter up." Sekingar would be lying if he said he wasn't under pressure taking this task on.

The higher-ups had hounded him the entire time to secure stock from Adam so they could research it. Even if they knew that it could lead to a bad result. But, Sekingar was a disposable employee. If his pestering did upset Adam they could get rid of him for acting without orders. Then they can assign a new person to the task.

The man himself wasn't that dumb. He knew he was disposable, but he wouldn't go down like this. However, he didn't expect Adam would talk about this himself. Furthermore, something like this...

"If you really want it, I can provide the Hero Association with a steady supply of the product, at the proper price of course."
