Nox stood frozen for a moment. The frost on his boots crackled softly as he shifted his weight, trying to make sense of what he was seeing—or rather, what he wasn't seeing.
The battlefield had been eerily quiet, aside from the occasional flicker of ghostly movement in the distance as his spirits carried out his command. They were supposed to be undetectable. They didn't leave a trail, and even among corrupted beasts, they were rarely noticed.
