Chapter 54 - A Black Eye

Bastian could have been the kind of man to get completely frozen under such immense pressure.

Anasta had a black eye. Something had happened, literally behind his back, some items had been thrown and the area had been unceremoniously cleaned of bystanders. The two women froze instead, gazing at each other with a murderous, vicious air sizzling from one belligerent to another.

Bastian had never moved so quickly in his entire life, not even when he had been in a physical fight himself.

"STOP. THIS."

He had not noticed his voice dropping so low, but he guessed that this, too, was a part of being a captain.

In a fit of anger, he physically pushed the two women apart without bothering to examine the cutlery on the floor. It was clear that spoons and forks had been used as weapons in this apparently mindless fight.

"You are a menace," Amanda snarled at Anasta, echoing something Bastian had heard somewhere. It felt like a long, long time ago, eons ago.
