With the revelation that the woman in question was one of the 10 great experts from ancient times, reincarnated… Yang Kai finally stopped shaking. He clenched his hand so hard, his golden blood flowed. "I apologize, I shouldn't have asked such a stupid question… Even if it were impossible, I'd still pursue it, and make it possible. It's what he would have done if the roles were reversed right now."
Mu wore a soft smile. "The son returns to battle, but the father returns for vengeance. I know if the two of us work together we can defeat Ink."
Yang Kai's brow twitched as he recalled that battle. "And what makes you so sure you can make that claim? From what I witnessed, it will take no less than a 100 years just to reach the bump of a hill to gaze upon the mountain range."
"Well, I was inside your son's inner domain through the whole fight. Which means, I could see the whole thing." Mu started to sweat. "He really didn't want to leave anything to chance. Which is why I have been brought back to help out. I ought to do it either way. For now though, I believe it's best for you to mourn-"
"Father! The book, the book big brother gave me! It's got more to it now… There's even a small bottle with his…" Yang Xingjuan cried, holding the bottle. And then she read the added content. "Father! Let me help avenge my big brother!"
"Me too!" Yang Luan added.
It was then that he had to speak up… "Father, I won't forgive you if you don't allow me to help. Big Brother was… I… I will have my vengeance!" Yang Liang's rage filled the room, people could taste it.
Yang Kai chuckled. "You'll have to get strong enough to warrant such permissions. But if you keep that drive, and you reach the required strength-"
Su Yan scowled. "NO! You won't be allowed to fight Ink! I won't let you! No way! I won't lose another baby to that monster!"
"But Su Yan, I can sense his title hasn't yet faded-"
"I can't sense my baby! Even when he was in the outer Chaos last time, I never lost track of him. SO! UNTIL HE IS BACK IN MY ARMS… I can only…" She started shaking, knowing that it was selfish. "The three of you will cultivate with the intention of getting strong enough that you won't die! Do you understand me!?"
In unison, all of my siblings answered together. They all had their own reasons for wanting vengeance. "Yes, Mother. We won't stop until we're strong enough."
Later, the family built a funeral monument. It had a complete story of my life, written down largely in part with the collective effort of everyone. It also had a complete account of the battle I had with Ink, courtesy of Mu. The best carvers from the union of the human race were commissioned to carve a statue, it was a depiction of all three of my forms. It was then decorated with all sorts of different decorations, gifts, and flowers from everyone that had benefited from the things I had done.
Then one day, an elderly man, that only a small handful of people recognized, was the last to pay his respects. His gift would surely cause an uproar. Yang Kai was incredibly thankful to see this old man, and paid proper respect.
"Thank you for coming, Senior World Tree."
"Ah, you can drop the pleasantries this time. I could have come sooner, but I felt it would be wrong of me not to bring something. So, I searched high and low, until I had collected enough for it to sustain itself." He looked upon the carving. "It has a wonderful vessel to inhabit as well." Then he raised his hand, palm up and there appeared a bolt of lightning, it wasn't impressively powerful by the standards that I had set recently, but it wasn't any weaker than the 8th rank. "Go on now, complete your resting place."
The bolt shot to the statue, causing it to move. "Thank you, Senior World Tree. Even though I am but an echo of my former self, I can still do my best to help my family. Even in death." My echo bowed politely.
"Please, it's fine. I only regret not having found your real body, or for that matter, any more of your existence." He chuckled. "Though, I can't be sure I'd have handled much more of that ferocious power you wield. Ohhh, well, I should take my leave. I am quite tired as of now… That took quite a lot out of me, to get rid of that much ink force." He turned to Yang Kai. "Don't worry you may visit me regularly if you wish. I'm sure you'll figure out how in time. Once I awaken, I'll continue to search for Yang Leiji, but no promises."
Yang Kai, couldn't help but bow again. The gift he brought was the best one by far. "Thanks to you-"
"Eh, don't mention it, Void. Temporal Thunder has done a lot for me as well. And I thought it was only right to do everything I could." Senior World Tree chuckled, then paused his vanishing. "I'll add one more thing, I let all of the 3000 Worlds know the news. I'm sure more will find their way here on some sort of pilgrimage." Then vanished.
Su Yan, who had been struggling with everything, far more than anyone else. Finally let loose towards the statue inhabited by my echo. "Leiji! Come home. Please! I'm sorry! I'm sorry I kept you from starting your family for so long. Come home! My son, my precious baby boy."
"Mother, I-" my echo tried to speak, but decided not to finish speaking. Instead opting to move the statue to hug her.
~ Realm of Hell ~
"Hmm, he's really not in the greatest of conditions."
"Oh shut up, it's not that hard to heal him."
The Queen of Hell, using a degree of unfathomable power, began to heal my wounds, to include the regrowth of my limbs. It honestly didn't take too long, however, I still refused to wake up, and made a face like I was in a level of agony, incomparable to any other.
"You there, you were once an Open Heaven realm person, correct? Is there a reason why he has yet to awaken?"
"Uh, Sir King of Hell, perhaps it's the numerous people who live inside? Have they been given permission to be here?"
