Chapter 675 - Chapter 675: Just Call Me "SIR"

Faced with Peter's ridiculous request, the Stephen in the video, of course, refused.

"Peter, I already tampered with the stability of time and space just to bring everyone back. But that was for countless lives. And now you want me to risk it all again just because your life got a little messy?"

Peter didn't even hesitate before arguing back. "It's not just about me! This is hurting a lot of people—my aunt, Happy, my best friend, my girlfriend… their futures are ruined just because my identity was exposed!"

Outside the screen, many viewers immediately started booing.

To them, Peter's argument was immature, irresponsible, and incredibly self-centered.

Stephen had already warned him about the dangers, yet he still acted like it wasn't a big deal. Even after fighting Thanos, witnessing Tony's death, and getting deceived by Mysterio, he still hadn't grown up. Compared to the other two Spider-Men, or even regular people, Peter was way behind in maturity.

Thankfully, the Stephen in the video didn't humor his nonsense. At this point in time, he no longer had the Time Stone, so even if he wanted to help, he physically couldn't.

But when he saw Peter's devastated expression—and with Wong making sarcastic remarks on the side—Stephen suddenly had an idea.

"The Runes of Kafka," he mused. "A simple memory wipe spell. It won't rewind time, but it can make everyone forget that you were ever Spider-Man."

Peter perked up, but Wong immediately warned, "That spell is extremely dangerous."

Stephen, however, brushed it off. The spell was rarely used, sure, but it had been cast before without any major disasters. Plus, he found it interesting.

Most importantly, Peter had come to him for help. And considering their shared history in battle, Stephen found it hard to just turn him away. So, after some convincing, Wong reluctantly agreed.

Outside the screen, Stephen frowned. Is this where things go wrong?

That didn't make sense—his abilities were more than enough to handle a simple memory spell.

In the video, Stephen led Peter down into an ancient underground chamber, explaining that this place had been a focal point of cosmic energy for nearly a thousand years.

As he spoke, he demonstrated his magic, weaving glowing golden strands into a ring of runes that surrounded them.

"Once the spell is cast, the circle will close, and everyone—including me—will forget that you were ever Spider-Man."

Peter's face immediately paled. He hadn't considered that everyone would forget—not just the general public, but also MJ.

Would she forget that she was even his girlfriend?

Panicked, he quickly asked Stephen to tweak the spell.

Stephen warned him that making changes mid-cast was risky, but Peter was persistent. After much whining, Stephen sighed and adjusted the spell to exclude MJ.

Then Peter suddenly blurted, "Wait! Ned too! He should remember!"

Stephen groaned. "Oh, for the love of—" He stopped the spell and started over.

"From now on, stop making changes!" he snapped.

Peter nodded frantically. "Right, right. That's it, I swear."

A beat of silence.

Then—

"But Aunt May should still know, right? Can we make sure she remembers?"

Stephen clenched his jaw, exhaling sharply before stopping the spell again.

At this point, before Peter could open his mouth, someone outside the screen called out: "Happy! What about Happy?"

Yep. No need to guess—Peter wasn't done yet.

From his girlfriend, to his best friend, to his aunt, and now his father figure… this kid was driving Stephen insane.

Stephen outside the screen stared, wide-eyed, watching his future self struggling.

As the video version of himself finally snapped and lost control of the spell, Stephen muttered, "I knew it. I just knew this was going to be a disaster… Peter, I swear, you've inherited Tony's worst trait—you could talk someone to death."

Pietro, meanwhile, was completely speechless. He shook his head. "I don't get it. Why didn't Peter think about this before casting the spell? Or Stephen, maybe you should've clarified everything before starting?"

Stephen shot him a glare and cut him off. "Look, I should've never agreed to help him in the first place! Or better yet, he should've never come to me at all. He had better options."

Peter coming to him for help was already ridiculous—his first thought was to rewind time? That was like using a nuclear bomb to kill a mosquito.

Logically, he should've exhausted every other option first. Only when all else failed should time travel even be considered.

But Peter?

He skipped straight to rewriting reality.

And then, as if that wasn't bad enough, he started modifying the spell mid-cast like it was a grocery list!

It was no surprise things spiraled out of control.

By the time Peter finally realized, "Oh, wait, maybe the people who knew my identity before should still know it now!"—it was too late.

The spell had completely collapsed.

The backlash was immense—buildings around them twisted and cracked as reality itself started warping. Everything became a surreal, chaotic nightmare.

Floating in midair, Stephen barely managed to wrestle the magic back under control, sealing the unstable spell inside a hexagonal relic.

Peter stared at the aftermath, dumbfounded. "So… did it work?"

Stephen, absolutely furious, shouted, "NO! You made me change the spell six times!"

Peter winced. "Uh… five times?"

Stephen's glare could've melted steel. "YOU ALTERED MY SPELL. And I told you not to! If I hadn't cut it off in time, the whole thing would have completely unraveled! Do you have any idea how catastrophic that could have been?"

Peter quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, Stephen."

Stephen, still seething, snapped—

"Call me SIR."
