Luke said, "I think you can compromise on your ideas, continue the search at the bottom of the lake this evening, and if we don't find anything, buy professional diving equipment tomorrow."
Neither of them opposed, which was tantamount to tacit agreement.
Luke then shared some of his diving experiences and some energy-saving techniques.
After 2 p.m., the three of them continued diving.
But the diving method in the afternoon was somewhat different from the morning.
This time, when they entered the water, they were no longer swimming downstream; instead, they sank to the bottom of the lake with a large stone on their backs, and continued the underwater search with the stone, using its weight to adjust their posture and walking on the lakebed with their feet.
When the diver's oxygen was nearly exhausted, they would place the cobblestone they carried into a net tied to a rope on the side, and by pushing off the lakebed with both feet, they could easily surface.
