"Is the council session over?"
Christos lifted his head to look at the man with silver ponytail standing before him.
"Yeah,"
The man with silver ponytail pursed his lips, throwing a thick draft of the bill on the ground, "It didn't pass."
Christos showed an unsurprised expression, shrugged, picked up the bill from the desk and smiled, "From your looks, what new objections did they come up with this time?"
"Do you know what one legislator said?"
The man with silver ponytail rubbed his temples, looking incredulous, "He said dismantling the conglomerates to counter their monopoly could lead to major layoffs, increased unemployment, and higher crime rates."
"Isn't that a very cliché reason?"
Christos wondered aloud.
"Exactly, I countered by saying the conglomerates are already firing people, and under their squeeze and manipulation, the unemployment and crime rates are higher every year,"
