In the afternoon, an internal meeting was held in the Hepatobiliary Surgery Department, mainly to discuss the surgical demonstrations that were being prepared for the National Conference on Hepatobiliary Pancreatic and Splenic Surgery.
Each group presented suitable cases for selection.
The cases needed to be carefully chosen since the surgery demonstration at the conference would be live. Live surgery does not allow for failure, especially when showcased in front of peers nationwide for teaching and exchange purposes, to display the hospital and department's professional and technical strength. If there were a risk of failure during surgery, it would be a disgrace in front of the entire country.
Section Chief Yang from the Medical Education Department personally attended the meeting, leading people to join in the discussions of the Hepatobiliary Surgery Department, as it was a matter concerning the hospital's reputation and the need to ensure the surgery was foolproof.
