Chapter 125 - For Realism

There was something wrong with the ice. It should have been more slippery instead of allowing the cultists to get a hold with their bare hands.

"Where is Eknie?" Ted asked Lumpy, who had just sat down next to him on a piece of even ice, panting and visibly shivering.

"I don't know," Lumpy said. "I saw Madorn. I think he is…"

"Alive," Ted said.

It was not like his mission depended on anyone but himself. Still, he was in need of help, and if Eknie was dead, he would suffer having to delegate murders and other acts of violence to less competent people, or to do them himself. That would paint him in an unfavorable light.

"Yes. Alive."

Almost like a psychic, Mad appeared from behind a mound of snow. He was looking a bit less disheveled than the rest of the crowd, but his hair was still wet and a clearly defined, twitchy shiver passed through his wiry body every now and then, making his movements mechanical. It looked like he was calculating everything he did beforehand.
