Chapter 58 - The Refraction Tomb

The journey to the Refraction Tomb is tense. The Wraithling resists at times—almost as if Kaelen's presence is hijacking the ship's bond.

Memories bleed into Ethan's vision—Kaelen's life, choices, the descent into ambition and obsession. These aren't just echoes… they're temptations.

In the tomb, the structure is surreal—shifting architecture that reflects not space, but memory. Each corridor is a moment from Kaelen's life. Some beautiful. Some monstrous.

Aelira is separated from Ethan by a flickering wall of light. Inside his corridor, Ethan finds:

Kaelen kneeling before the Dead Throne.

A younger Kaelen turning away from Aelira in the past, whispering "You were never part of the plan."

And finally—Kaelen holding a dying child, whispering the real reason he took the throne.

"I was trying to change the world. Even if it meant burning mine to do it."

At the heart of the tomb lies a crystal sarcophagus—inside it, the Thronewrought Kaelen, clad in obsidian armor, eyes open and waiting.

He smiles. "It's time we stopped pretending, Ethan. I'm not your past. I'm your future. You need me."

The System pulses erratically.

And the screen ends on Ethan's hand hovering… undecided.
