CRACK! The vampire's coffin broke down under the pressure of Average's relentless attacks. As such, Fiona was forced to take immediate action.
Escaping from this situation alive was probably impossible. With Hurricane blocking her path and Average firing at her on steroids, Fiona was bound to be shot down while making her escape. Thus, she had no choice but to strike back at the aggressors.
At first glance, it seemed most attractive to go after Venus' remaining 20% HP. However, that would be a waste of time if Fiona fails to convert it into a kill.
At 20% HP, Venus will have no choice but to recall after this battle either way. Therefore, attacking her any further will not make a dent in StormBlitz's overall advantage.
Instead, Fiona targeted Average. It was uncertain by how much she would be able to lower his HP before perishing, but every percent counted.
She turned around toward her aggressors and fired bats at the Chronomancer. At the same time, the man continued barraging her with magical shots while Venus unleashed blasts of wind from the side.
To stay in the game for as long as possible, Fiona moved around while shooting. She did not have the opportunity to learn the Korean Step Cancel yet, so she relied on simple sidesteps in between her shots.
While KC was an advanced technique reserved only for those who had the time and skill to master it, regular sidesteps were something everybody had to learn in this game. They were especially important in ranged combat like this.
By carefully analyzing the enemy's movements and patterns, Fiona was able to predict in which direction it was most optimal to sidestep. This was similar to playing bullet chess, where many quick decisions had to be made on the spot based on the overall flow of the game.
They shoot well, but they are not particularly coordinated. Fiona thought. It does not even feel like I am dodging shots from two opponents at the same time.
There were two sources of gunfire, so the enemy could have arranged their attacks in such a way that it would be impossible for Fiona to sidestep anything. However, Venus and Average were firing their shots like two uncoordinated berserkers. There was no teamwork there whatsoever. Zilch.
It was as if their minds were filled with nothing but the raw desire to rip Fiona to shreds. They succumbed to the sweet allure of revenge.
Die already, bitch! Julia cursed as she unleashed gusts of wind.
I'm killing you this time! Dan asserted as he attacked. You're nothing!
They assaulted their target with nothing but raw aggression. Ironically, their religious dedication to the cause blinded them, making them far less efficient than they could have otherwise been.
I am surprised I am still alive. Fiona thought. Even my roll came out of cooldown. Hmm. This makes me wonder if I could have killed Venus, after all.
But, the answer was probably "no". If Fiona had tried to focus on Venus, the enemy would have likely changed their approach.
And so, Fiona continued firing shots at Average as she struggled to survive for as long as possible. But, ultimately, her HP burned out.
『You have been killed!』
Her fate was predetermined the moment Average showed up, but she managed to achieve a lot in her last moments. Reducing Average's HP from 70% to 30% was a big deal. He will not be able to freely roam the map with injuries like that.
But, for now, the two opponents were not concerned about such bleak details. They were busy celebrating the fact that they had finally taken down the Landberht Princess with their own two hands.
"Hell yeah! Eat shit!" Julia grinned. "You're nothing, bitch!"
"Phew, we finally did it." Dan dropped back on his chair in exhaustion. At long last, he thoroughly defeated the "terrible monster" that terrorized him in the first game.
This was arguably Rosemary's first big blunder of the day. She seemed nearly undefeatable until now, but Dan finally unmasked her for the greenhorn she really was! Hah! Served her right!
But, unlike Julia and Dan, Howard wasn't as thrilled about the result. They double-teamed her, and she still injured Dan so badly. Not to mention, she made them waste a lot of precious time.
For a "greenhorn", Rosemary's execution was really something else. The way she launched her gank was top-notch.
Usually, a Vampire player would open their gank with Night Hunt. However, Rosemary was patient. She struck with Hungering Horde and gave Julia the opportunity to react.
In her rashness, Julia assumed it was an invitation to a ranged duel. So, she immediately summoned her Jet Stream, which was exactly what Rosemary wanted her to do.
In response, Rosemary activated her ult and flew around the Jet Stream. This nullified one of Julia's biggest tools on the spot.
That entire sequence of events was a high-level calculation from Rosemary. It definitely wasn't something one would expect from an "amateur".
There are still a few months until the regionals. Howard thought. If Rosemary got this good in less than a year, then how much better will she become by then…?
At this point, there was no doubt in anybody's mind that the "Landberht Princess" was a prodigy when it came to sports. Just as the media claimed, she quickly picked up any sport she tried her hand in. Howard always thought these were exaggerations, but he couldn't argue with the facts that were staring him in the face.
But, Classmancers isn't a solo game. Howard thought. No matter how good she is, she will still lose the game if the rest of her team can't carry its own weight.
So, even though individually Rosemary was a tough opponent, the Valkyries as a whole were pushovers at best. So long as Rosemary didn't have momentum on her side, her team as a whole was no match for StormBlitz. And, the Landberht Princess was reminded of that fact once again after the recent exchange...
