Falling for my Ex's Boss
Sophia London reluctantly agrees to a blind marriage arranged by her parents, hoping it would get them off her back. To her surprise, her date turns out to be none other than Aiden Carter, a high powered lawyer and her ex's boss. Aiden also finds himself at the restaurant unwillingly having been both pressured into the date by his own family. Both feeling trapped and embarrassed, they quickly agree on a plan to fake their relationship, hoping it would appease their families and allow them some peace.
Their pretence begins with both Sophie and Aiden playing their roles convincingly. As they spend more time together, they find themselves unexpectedly comfortable in each other's company. Sophia, who works in a local gallery, appreciate Aiden's sharp mind and unexpected humor, while Aiden finds himself drawn to Sophia creativity and warmth. They attend family gatherings and social events, each instance blurring the lines of their supposed acts. However both are haunted by their pasts, Sophia worries about getting involved with someone from the corporate world again, and Aiden fears commitment after a failed engagement.
Despite their reservations, the chemistry between them grows undeniable. During a weekend getaway that was supposed to convince their families, they finally confront their feelings and share a passionate kiss. However, the past soon catches up them with Sophia's ex, Adam, enters the picture, warning her that Aiden will never change and is only using her.
Doubts creeps in, and Sophia pulls away, questioning the sincerity of their relationship. Aiden, hurt by Sophia's sudden distance, begins to believe that she might still have feelings for Adam.
The tension escalates when Sophia and Adam attend a Charity gala, and they have a heated argument about their future. Sophia accuses Aiden of being emotionally unavailable, while Aiden accuses Sophia of not trusting him. They part ways, both believing the other is unwilling to move beyond the pretense. However, the separation forces them their fears and desires. Sophia realizes that she has been holding Aiden to the same standard as Adam, while Aiden confesses that he has been to afraid to open up.
Determined to make things right, Aiden makes a grand gesture at one of Sophia's gallery exhibitions, publicly declaring his feelings and admitting that their relationship was never just an act for him. Touched by his vulnerability, Sophia admits her own feelings and apologizes for doubting him. They reconcile, agreeing to face their fears together. The story ends with Sophia and Aiden happily committed to each other, their families finally convinced and supportive of their genuine relationship.
